Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

I think some of you have been posting very hurtful comments. No one deserves such nasty remarks, especially considering how much I care about the subject. I don't think children should miss school for vacations. I think that because I have first hand knowledge about what happens to students...

Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

I thought your post implied negative feelings towards the educational system. Don't act like you don't know what I'm refering too...unless its too hard for you to understand. I'm concerned with how all of my students, and all of OUR students in the country perform in school. Its too bad you...

    Turkey Legs

Considering the size of the turkey legs... I wonder how big the entire turkey is!!! In fact, part of me thinks they might have a secret special lab where they grow only the huge turkey legs, and not the rest of the turkey! :)

Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

Since when is supporting your child's education being anti-family?!? I'm a teacher. I'm here to help your child, and help you. I give of my own time, and my own money for you and your child. I'm not the enemy.

Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

I know all too well that not all parents work with their children at home with reading and writing. In fact about half my students don't even have children's books at home, nor do they have anyone working with them on homework. For many of them I'm the only one fighting for their education...

Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

If your child has an unexcused absence (and vacation time is not excused) your school district loses money. And while your child may only miss a few days, when its combined with absences of other children, it really adds up. And if your child is a great student, imagine how much MORE they...

    California Grill

The food was good, but I don't recommend going during the fireworks show. It's a bit too loud, and crowded at that time.

Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! As a first grade teacher I find this insulting. I hope you're joking. I know as adults we don't need to read and write on a daily basis, but if children don't practice every day, they don't maintain their reading and writing skills, and often fall behind. Grrrrrrrr! Okay...

Keeping children out of school to go to WDW

I'm a first grade teacher, and students do often miss school to go to Disneyland, or some other family vacation. It's usually the kids who really NEED to be in school every day, and are behind in their basic reading, and math skills who leave. The School District hates that they are missing...

Feedback for Mitsukoshi Teppanyapi rest. please

I've been to the Sushi bar they have situated inside the same building so I assume many of the foods there are also offered inside the restaurant. I thought the vegetable tempura was fabulous!

That's true! People should eat to live, not live to eat. However, when it comes to chocolate I have absolutely no self control. :animwink:

The most annoying thing at WDW?

I actually talked to someone recently to openly admitted to using her child's stroller to push her way through crowds at Disney. She even seemed proud of it! Oh, and I think its annoying when some people in the park are so over heated from the weather that they start stripping! I've seen...

    Victoria and Alberts

I understand that its a very highly rated restaurant, that serves seven courses... which is probably why they are so small. And sometimes quality is better than quantity. However, I've never eaten there, and I'll soon find out all about it when I go there in November.

Why is WDW so busy end of Sept.

A class trip in September? Lucky kids. Usually, schools wait until the end of the year to send kids on class trips like these.

    Don't even bother...

Thank you all for your opinions! I find them much more useful than just looking at menus, or just reading about people's favorite menu items. Its just nice to read about your honest experiences inside these restaurants. Thanks again!

What restaurants, or snack places do you think people should stay away from, or places that are a bit over-rated?

    1900 Park Fare Breakfast

I went last summer, and had a great breakfast! However, I don't suggest wearing an Alice In Wonderland shirt to this place, unless you want to be completely harrassed by the Mad Hatter, and Alice characters inside the restaurant. PS... great hot chocolate with whipped cream!

    :confused:Soarin' Over Florida?

Hee! Hee! I'm from California, so I thought it was a little odd to have to go all the way to Florida to see what my state looks like from the air. I agree that it should be something different... maybe "Soarin' over America".
