Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Agreed. I personally thought that Trolls movie looked hideous from the start save for the 2D sequence I saw in the trailer. It made me wince.

Either way when the opening numbers are revealed there are bound to be a lot of "I told you so"s from either side. I'm not looking forward to that.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

If you mean Rotten Tomatoes, well, honestly, I always decide for myself with any movie I am interested in seeing. I don't put much stock in them these days. I went to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie despite the mixed reviews and found it to be a blast. Much better than the 93 live action...

I wasn't even trying to upset him.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Odd. I don't know which one is which.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Don't get too cocky. It seems promising, but you never know.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing as well. Not so much "negative" as it is mildly disappointing. So, you need to take them with a grain of salt. No, it ain't the critics' fault. It's the management. They need new leaders. (I think I know TalkingHead is being sarcastic.) Hmmm, interesting article.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Definitely. I connected a lot more to Hunchback. Its musical score is also arguably stronger than Pocahontas.

I think in this case the real answer is management shakeup.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

I personally prefer Hunchback because it has more oomph to it. Pocahontas has its moments though. Apparently WISH is on track to earn $75 million worldwide for opening weekend; whether that's good or bad is up for debate.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Again, that will depend on the audience.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Hard to say. But I do think it was a mistake to hype the film up as a tribute to Disney 100.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

That will be difficult considering how divided the critics have been on this one. Then again there have been some Disney movies that received mixed reviews but still did solid business (Chicken Little, believe it or not, was a box office success, despite its negative critical reception, as was...

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Oh yeah, that definitely feels like a case of "too many cooks in the kitchen."

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

I don't even consider Pocahontas a remotely bad film at all. It has its heart in the right place and has lovely visuals and music, and on its own it's a solid film, but coming on the heels of The Lion King it comes across as underwhelming by comparison. If Wish is more like Pocahontas I'll...

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Last I heard they are doing it at the Vancouver Disney Studio. But apparently they are having supervision from Mark Henn, or at least that's what I heard.

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

Which is why I feel they need new management instead of anything else. But they are moving ahead with TIANA on Disney Plus and training 2D animators, so who knows?

Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

I am very, very doubtful that will happen, but who knows. I do agree that this sounds like more of a KIDS' movie than a movie for everyone. I do think Disney could do better, though. Starting with getting better management.
