    Hurricane Helene (2024)

Supposed to be flying in Friday for a milestone birthday trip and already getting notices from the airline that I should consider changing my flight. Had to cancel my October 2022 trip for Hurricane Ian, really should stop booking trips in hurricane season.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

This is the info I got when I called. I specifically asked for a refund and the CM said the tickets would just go dormant.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Not sure if this is the right thread for this any longer but we cancelled our trip and Disney is telling me my unused MNSSHP tickets will just go dormant in my account and I can use them for a party next year. Has anyone else received that same info? It conflicts with info other posters in...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

All of this. I wasn't scheduled to check in until Sunday but I have no return flight (RSW) so I'm supposed to eat $2k to change my flight so I can go to a Halloween party?

Wow that's bananas. I'm an AP, what am I supposed to do with that? I understand they're non refundable but this is an act of God situation.

Please keep us posted on what you hear. I'm on hold with DVC now to cancel our reservation and am hoping they can assist with party ticket refunds.

Thank you. I’ve explored all airport options and it’s cost prohibitive to change. Or maybe I should say, it’s a cost we are unwilling to accept 😂 Keeping our flight out of RSW with staying in Orlando all week was an idea but DVC is obviously all booked going into a holiday weekend and a...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

We have party tix for Sunday night, if I cancel, does anyone know if I can get a refund? I’m so bummed, we want to go but our return flight is next weekend from RSW and we don’t believe that leg of the trip is possible and changing our flights to go out of MCO is insane money. 😭

Flying into MCO from ORD and then driving into Naples on Wednesday. Kids are school age but little, so we luckily don't need much beyond mac & cheese and bottled water for them.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

I have no idea what to do about our reservation/arrival on Sunday yet. We have Halloween party tix that it sounds like Disney will move ahead with so we are inclined to go. On the second half of our trip, we were supposed to be visiting family in Naples, but that looks unlikely right now...

You're giving them a lot of credit ;) But, yes, I anticipate they'll lose power.

Yeah, I think they might be a few hurricane cocktails deep. 🤣 I should have checked the news myself before posting. They are wonderful people but notoriously space cadets.

I don't want to LOL but this is such a classic text from my in laws... of course they would think it is past when it isn't, lol! Oh boy. Well, I'm hoping they stay safe and get better at watching the news.

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

My in laws in Naples texted this morning to say the eye was past and they still had intermittent power... a few trees down and some flooding on the golf course they live on but so far, so good for them. They live inland enough to not have to worry about storm surge, at least in regards to...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

The fact that no Disney breakfast reservations have opened up for Monday and Tuesday tells me that not a lot of people have canceled trips / bailed on their current vacation. I’m surprised! I guess we will see how flights shake out for Friday and Saturday and if people get down to MCO.

Thank you! We have the rental car already booked, I’m just thinking they won’t have the type/size of car we have booked, heaven knows that even without severe weather, Hertz manages to screw up our rental cars 80% of the time! I’m going to press go on my Garden Grocer order, not life changing...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

Has anyone been to WDW right after a hurricane? We are still holding strong on our trip down on Sunday… sounds like parks will be open but I’m wondering about things like groceries and rental cars. I’m praying for all you Floridians, we have family down there and I know hurricanes are nothing...

Anxiously following the news and this thread - we are scheduled to arrive in MCO on Sunday 10/2 and have party tix.
