    Saratoga Disappointed Owner

I stayed at SSR last October and was very pleasantly surprised. I thought the decor was great. My only complaint was the lack of a sit down restaurant which is being addressed. I did go to the pool once but the water was so warm that swimming just made me hotter. Yes they probably could have...

    Looking For Unbiased Opinions

The fact of the matter is that pretty much whether you buy now or whether you buy later, it is a breakeven either way. If you buy now, points are cheaper but you will have to pay annual dues so either way the points wind up costing you roughly the same amount of money. If I were buying in...

    Dining Plans

Just an FYI, starting in January, DVC members can buy into the dining plan for trips beginning April 1st 2006 and beyond. $37.99/adult per day and $10.99/child per day. You must buy for all people in your party, and for the entire length of your stay. You do not need to purchase any park...

I've eaten at both and have to say that I prefer Whispering Canyon to Ohana. The food and atmosphere both win hands down for me.

What's the Funniest Thing You've Ever Seen?

One time we were in Epcot by the restrooms and all of the sudden I hear yelling. I turn around to look and there is a maintenance person loudly berating another maintenance person. Boy was I indignant!! You don't yell at people at WDW....especially not the employees!! Just when I was going...

Considering buying into DVC-- need advice

Okay here are some Cons... If you are staying at a DVC resort on your points, you do not receive daily mousekeeping. If you would like the service there is an additional charge. If you are a person that likes to stay at many different resorts DVC may not be for you. The best use of...

    Villas at Wilderness Lodge

The Villas at Wilderness Lodge are beautiful. We were there Feb 2004 and loved the resort. It has become our favorite. If you are really interested in staying there you may want to consider renting points. It would far less expensive than renting from Disney directly.

    Le Cellier at Canada

Hi Everyone ! I won a trip ! Need some help with planning choices please !!!

If it were me I would stick with the hotels on the monorail line. If the kids want to see animals they can go to Animal Kingdom (the park). IMO if this is your first (and possibly last) trip to Disney the kids are going to want to be out enjoying the parks not hanging around the hotel to...

    DVC Questions

The amount that you put down determines the interest rate for DVC financing. Unlike most other timeshare properties DVC offers financing and it is considered a mortgage for tax purposes. DH and I looked at Silver Lake and were seriously considering the purchase. DH convinced me to take a...

Animal Kingdom Lodge vs Wilderness Lodge

I prefer WL to AKL. It is a much more homey atmosphere and is closer to the parks. I am surprised that AKL is cheaper than WL. That being said for the difference I would stay at AKL.

Does anyone else think DVC ruins the spirit?

DVC is not for everyone. I don't think that anyone could argue that. For my purposes the tradeoff of not having my room cleaned everyday is..... I don't have to worry about packing up my kids to get them breakfast before hitting the parks. I also don't have to worry about trying to fit a...

Booking villa through a DVC member directly?

mary, if you rent points from a DVC owner you are basically the owner's guest. Your room keys will be marked with DVC member. Although technically you are not really entitled to any of the perks that members are entitled to many people report that they receive the benefits anyway. One...
