I've got 0 problem with "limited callbacks" to IP - singing "High Ho" for exit music or even a few quips to other IP in the shows (I vaguely recall MuppetVision having some to during the preshow but can't recall offhand). It's making the entire show about other Disney IP that's the issue.

Is it as great as its heyday? No. But there's still a baseball team in every state, still a league and still games. Just look at the NBA Experience at Disney Springs even with the NBA going strong they couldn't get that thing to fly. But the Country Bears... is art and still one of Walt's...

No kidding - I've got an album from the Firehouse Five Plus Two band that played at Disneyland (led by Ward Kimball and some of the other Disney Imagineers) that had several, great, inappropriate jokes. Even a mild curse... on a Disneyland record!!

They could've cycled back in the holiday shows which would've brought in variety to the show and rekindled interest. Heck - they're getting rid of this and they STILL haven't done anything about the Stitch's Great Escape space to ADD ride/show capacity!

Didn't seem to be a problem for the last 20 years and you'll find that the same can be said for Carousel of Progress. Guess they can just have father sing disney songs too.

Because it shows a lack of creativity in the parks - which is all too prevalent these days. They're recycling product back into themselves. Why not modern country songs? Why not go back through the folklore of the era that the original songs came from and unearth some REAL CULTURAL HISTORY...
