Man, not good news. I remember renewing my Silver pass just a few years ago for under $400. I love going to WDW, but it's getting harder & harder to maintain that stance when they consistently jack up the prices with little-to-no increase in quality :cry:

I suppose he's been down for longer than that (maybe not malfunctioning every day though), as our January 11th-13th trip had a static chasing Carno, too. A few YouTube videos taken after those dates also showed the static back-up Carno still being used during rides. It's really unfortunate that...

Dinosaur! During our trip earlier in the month, the ride must've *just* closed down as we got to the entrance. So, naturally, the next day we went to AK literally just for Dinosaur... and the meerkats :p

Oh wow, what a bummer :cry: I can't really say that I'm surprised, though. Definitely an overlooked area of the park. Could this be a hint of big changes being made to Animal Kingdom, or too soon to tell?

I've only ever ridden it once & I did not like it. Maybe it's because I'm of small stature, but I felt that the rocket was at an angle & I kept sliding to my left the entire ride - definitely not a good feeling o_O I personally don't feel like I miss out on much when I skip Astro Orbiter...

I definitely have; although, to be fair, I never actively looked for him prior to the refurb so I'm not sure if he's always been as obvious. But yes, I can really pinpoint him because of his teeth - it almost looks like blacklight exposure because of the slight luminescence.

What has occurred with Dinosaur? On our most recent trip from May 5th - 7th, the only thing I really noticed that was off was the photo carnotaurus; he was leaning WAAAAAY forwards (almost like he was about to faceplant :(). Didn't really look too good, especially for a spot where your picture...

I absolutely adore both Figment & his ride in Epcot :cautious: !

As others have stated, the drop isn't all that bad. It looks pretty steep & intimidating, but honestly it doesn't last that long at all! I always freak out more over the backwards part on EE (moreso the first half of it) - honestly, sometimes I've felt like I was going to black out & couldn't...

I'm all for people having their opinions about what rides are the best, but if you tell me The Little Mermaid is better than the Haunted Mansion you're just flat-out wrong :banghead:
