With all due respect nibblesandbits, this is a misguided notion. You'll never achieve absolute equity. Someone always has it better or easier. Don't the folks who live in Orlando and/or have "better" cameras already have the "upper hand" over those who only get to WDW once every couple of years...

Actually, that's not really a good definition as it's pretty loose. As an amateur photographer who started out in traditional darkrooms I can say there's a lot of content manipulation that could be done "the old fashioned way". With that said...I think general image adjustment is a good...

Some good thoughts there DizWiz. I'd also like to see some themes that are a bit more challenging/specific but I found your suggestion about general photo "processing" more interesting. I'd be for it. I see nothing wrong with generally editing a shot to enhance or better convey its mood. "Spot"...

I think it's worth having the discussion. I'm pretty sure everyone's been polite about it so far. It'd be nice if we could just rely on everyone following their conscience but, unfortunately, not everyone's conscience is an exceptional guide.

I'm glad you posted this Kevlightyear. I was thinking the same but felt shy about posting it. If it's real, fantastic...awesome shot but if not.....it should be DQed. I know these contests are just for fun but if we're going to set rules they have to be followed and policed. Just saying that...
