It sounds like you are well educated about gators. However, I would venture to guess that most Disney guests from outside Florida, staying at the properties around the man made lagoon, would not consider the waters edge at the Grand Floridian a wild area.

I simply asked historically how long softs are offered. It doesn't appear you know the answer to that question. I'm sure I'm not the only guest out there disappointed as most of the events were to open in the spring, not the summer.

Heck, we planned this whole trip around what might be open...ROL, Frozen, Star Wars, etc. Sadly, it appears, none of it will be available.

Was the 24 hour event literally 24 hours, meaning the soft opening was only available the day before the ride officially opened? Trying to gauge if I've got a chance on the 17th as there's no point in dragging four little ones back there when Epcot opens if it's unlikely the ride will be running.

The inside contractor seemed pretty sure on dates. I wonder why it changed? Hoping maybe the 6/17 date he posted is for the start of softs.

I'm so new to all this. How do softs typically work? Do they announce them in advance publicly, or do you just show up at the ride and see if they're running? We're there on 6/17 so I'm trying to stay positive.
