if tre8 it sounds like a staffing problem.

Why I may not go again

I'm glad we're not going back for at least 2-3 years. Hopefully all these new requirements will be gone or simplified. They should have just instituted Universal's Express Pass. It's simple and in some cases free. Having to choose parks in advance or get shut out may just be the deal...

    Dining Plans

Exactly. We thought it was too much food and we are not light eaters.

    Dining Plans

After having gotten the plan years ago at a huge discount we would never pay for it. I've never (and still don't) understand the "convenience" aspect some people like. I don't want to have to think about if I'm getting my money's worth. One podcast some time ago did an analysis and you have...

The “wealthy” is not going to work

If you save your money the cost is doable. We don‘t go more than every 4-6 years. The next visit will be at the 9 year mark.

News Walt Disney World's Minnie Van service confirmed to return summer 2022

$300 used to be the cost of a week long car rental.

Was Disney World better years ago? Your thoughts.

I'll have to say our 2016 trip was the best. Loved the way FP+ allowed us to sleep in some days and still be able to do the popular attractions. The planning was a bit much but once we were there it was fine. We don't obsess over dining.

Are tickets to WDW really over priced?

As compare to an NFL game ticket WDW is a bargain.

The average first-timer's research for a visit?

I liken a trip to WDW like and Everest climb: It requires stamina, planning, and money.

Advise for traveling to WDW after knee replacement surgery

As long as your rehab went well I would not worry about it. We went after my first one and had no issues at all. After 10 months you should be close to 100%. I've since had the other one done and I have no knee issues at all.

When Did WDW Become An Extended Vacation Destination?

This is exactly how we do it. every 4-6 years. :last trip in 2016 was 8 nights. The next not until at least 2022.

Augh.. I feel like the Harbinger of Doom recently with my posts.. Tom Sawyer's Island will not be opening up again...

I can't wait to see Disney try to enforce social distancing during parades and fireworks.

    Masks at WDW

Or no flash photography and move the whole way down the aisle.

    Opening WDW with Social Distancing

Agreed. It is in no way practical. What if you violate 6SD? Removal from the park? What? They are going to have to reopen as normal. No way to enforce anything to a significant degree. If you've seen the simulations of sneezes/coughs in a grocery store they travel pretty far. More than 6...

Is the parks going to be open in May of this year and is there going to be screening done at the hotels.

Not a chance on the air fare unless you plead directly to the airline.

Ticket price increase / FP+ changes coming?

Yes. Their IT systems and staff can barely keep the current MDE and FP+ systems up and running. Making a change will be a real mess.
  17. rwdavis2

Will these prices ever cap out?

Although tickets are expensive, the yearly increase is, IMHO, barely a rounding error on the overall cost of a trip.

    Unpopular Disney World Opinions

The vast majority of WDW dining is at best mediocre and not worth scheduling your trip around it.

    Boardwalk area

At times there is not enough parking at BW for guests. That’s why they turn people away.

    Food obsession-good or bad?

We have a couple of favorite places but would rather save our dining dollars for local places. Far better food where we live than 99% of the WDW restaurants. Most places don't seem much better than a TGI Friday's for Olive Garden.
