I would think TDO would definitely want a grand opening at least the day of the 24 hour event. To do a soft opening at that time seems a little ridiculous. Plus, it is a great pull to get more people in the park that day. "Come play with us for 24 hours at the Magic Kingdom and enjoy the Grand...

I used to head straight to the forums, too. Now, I tend to check the news when I first get on and then read forum updates as the day goes on.
