News PHOTOS - Prince Charming Regal Carrousel behind scrims for refurbishment

Here's a bit of history of the Liberty Carrousel (as it was originally named). horse_trading_how_an_iconic_jersey_carousel_hit_the_trail_to_disneys_magic_kingdom.html

DHS Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Did Disney go back to this version of Mickey because of public domain issues? By using "Old" Mickey again, did it push off some of those concerns? I thought I read something about this, but it may have been a dream (lol)....anyone know?

    DHS Indiana Jones Land?

This news was actually picked up on Sirius XM Hits 1 this morning.....part of the morning 411. If Nicole from the Morning Mashup says it's happening, well it's got to be happening! lol

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

I agree....especially with the MK's RoA being at a lower elevation than the surrounding walkways, it'd would've worked really well. I feel the steamboat at MK "looks" better than at DL, due to this design aesthetic.

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

Exactly this....very early pre-opening art shows a Columbia plying the RoA. After the MK opened, park ops realized that the Columbia (at DL) provided almost no shade or protection from rain. With central Florida's sporadic thunderstorms, a second steamboat was chosen. I would have loved to...

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

Noticed in pictures of the refilled river, that the barrel bridge was back in place.

    News Tomorrowland love

Thanks.....I thought it looked a bit odd. Sorry for the confusion....I would have put the "before" pic on the left, and the "after" on the right....lol!

News PHOTOS - Prince Charming Regal Carrousel behind scrims for refurbishment

Any progress on the Carrousel? Last I saw, it was still covered with scrims and supports boxed in.

DHS Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

As I walked into TSL (for the first time), I was completely underwhelmed at it's entrance. I immediately thought how easy it would have been to recreate Andy's house to walk through, where props would have been made progressively bigger, until you got to the backyard. It would have made a far...

    News Crane behind BTMRR

Assume you mean Liberty Belle, the riverboat, not Lilly Belle the steam engine, from the railroad! And yes, she got moved to dry dock and rumor has it that her work is done. There is track work "in" the river that needs to be addressed before she can return, hence the extension of the...

EPCOT Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

Every time I think of IYHW (which was a family favorite), I hear the clatter of the projectors, in my head. We would ride that attraction over and over. As simple as the whole presentation was, it was highly effective, and better yet, as a "free" attraction, highly repeatable!

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

Now if you’d been on the Bay Lake side, seeing a riverboat being towed towards the MK.....well that would be awesome!

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

LB was referring to the Liberty Belle (this is a riverboat thread)....didn't realize that Lilly had an issue. The 19th was the scheduled return to service for the riverboat.

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

Thread bump.....any idea how LB's boiler rehab/replacement is going? July 19th is just three weeks away and I'm wondering if she'll be back according to the schedule.

Broken Hopper Effect at "It's Tough to Be a Bug"

Hopper was active in late April....AND the theatre was at least 3/4 full. It's still a popular attraction at DAK....being in the Tree of Life probably has something to do with that too. I always go, as I find it hilarious to witness guest reaction around me....especially the bit that asks...

News Flights of Wonder closing and replaced by 'UP! A Great Bird Adventure'

I'm a perfectionist, so any less than perfect would be acceptable. I would guess that 95% of the audience found this show more than acceptable.

News Flights of Wonder closing and replaced by 'UP! A Great Bird Adventure'

Yes....they should've been comfortable with it, but they weren't, so it was a bit rough, but I wouldn't call the cast unprepared. Far from it. You have to realize that no matter how prepared you are in "live" theatre, the minute you add in a real audience, it changes. There were times where...
