Because it says Disney Junior Play n' Dine for Lunch and Breakfast, I'd bet that they will keep it to Disney Junior characters. Is it possible that reviews that you're seeing are referring to dinner now that that is Minnie's Seasonal Dining?

Never said they couldn't :) With the exception of Ohana and this "adult meal", every single other ADR on the trip is character dining. Yikes!
