From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

By the sound of it, this same event likely would have happened if the child wasn't in the water at all, but standing at its edge. That's prime location for a gator on the hunt: small prey, near shore. So we can't really place blame on anyone, as it's a case of "wrong place, wrong time".

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

His body was found, according to the Orlando Sentinel, and thankfully not chewed up or eaten. Apparently the gator drowned him and didn't go any further. Still a horrible tragedy.

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

I'm just thankful that the boy's body was found and that it was "intact" according to the Orlando Sentinel. That implies, then, that he wasn't eaten at all, just drowned. Still.....a heartbreaking loss for the family. I have a niece the same age as that boy and just imagining the devastation if...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

Absolutely horrible and heartbreaking. But WHY......would those parents let their son enter the water with those "no swimming" signs posted all over the place? Why not relax with their children at the pool, which is much safer? I can only imagine the horror of the parents who watched it happen...

What WDW resort would you never stay at and why?

Agree to disagree on that one. If a bus hits multiple stops within the same resort (which guests there can use to get from one place to another within that same resort), I consider it an internal bus system. I prefer there to be only one bus stop at my resort where I get on/off before it leaves...

What WDW resort would you never stay at and why?

Good point, I hadn't considered that. But generally, I don't use the resort buses that often. Being close to the MK, we usually go there for a while, then take the monorail to the TTC and then again to Epcot, and from Epcot take either a bus or the International Gateway boat to DHS or AK.

What WDW resort would you never stay at and why?

They do have a very good point, though. You're paying thousands of $$$ for the vacation itself, with the biggest chunk going to stay in the Disney resorts. Personally, I couldn't reconcile paying that kind of money and then taking time off in the day to do things I can do at home for free (go...

What WDW resort would you never stay at and why?

For one, I would NEVER stay again in any of the resorts that have its own internal bus system. I can't stand the extra wait having to hit multiple bus stops before going out finally to my destination OR the extra wait again on the return before I get to my bus stop so I can get to my room. I do...

The Best Scents in WDW (Poll)

Thanks, I knew I was missing a particular other category. I also love the smell of the soaps in the Norway shop. I'll add that additional option.

The Best Scents in WDW (Poll)

I know the "best smell" threads have been numerous, but this time I thought I would simply list a number of the most commonly heard options (that I've heard anyway) of some of the best scents in the World. Which is yours?

Does Disney need another big thrill ride?

Yes, they definitely do need more thrill rides, something perhaps on par with Six Flags, too. What kind of rides did they last give us? The extremely tame Dwarfs Mine Train and Little Mermaid. The only real thrill at Epcot is Test Track, so they could certainly use at least one more there in...

    DISNEY infomercials

I agree, I think it looks stupid and is just a scream for attention.

    DISNEY infomercials

I have a love/hate with those infomercials, particularly the ones shown on-property with "Stacy". While I love the great views of everything in the World and the information presented on them, I tend to hate the hosts of those shows because they act like complete idiots, spouting off stupid...

When was your last visit to WDW?

Just added "6 mths to 1 year" option!

When was your last visit to WDW?

Couldn't agree more. Just trying to price a bare-minimum vacation at the value resorts - which we're not fond of - with park hopper tickets is basically the same amount today as it was for us to stay a week in a deluxe resort around the last time we took a trip there. It's ridiculous.

When was your last visit to WDW?

Unfortunately for me, I haven't been since September 2012......just before they started preview openings of New Fantasyland. And even more unfortunately, I can't see a trip again in the near future, but there's always hope. How long has it been for you?

    Which bothers you the most?

Which of the items listed in the poll do you find annoying the most? (This is meant to be for light discussion, nothing more.)

    Bus accident by Animal Kingdom.

Which is the best Epcot ride?

Probably has all those votes because it isn't overrated at all.

Which is the best Epcot ride?

I had to go with Soarin' - the current, unchanged version. There's just something both magical and relaxing about this attraction, from the moment your ride vehicle lifts into the air, when that grand score starts playing, and you're off to beautiful parts of California, enjoying the sites and...
