As a Disney obsessed 10 year old in 1985 who lived on the east coast and only been to WDW, I recorded this special and watched over and over. This, a few glimpses on the old weekly Disney series (which had ended by then), and Birnbaum’s guide was all the Disneyland info I could get…no google...

Agree…though Florida never technically had a drawbridge like Disneyland.

I thought for awhile there were marginal differences in design between the four parks (i.e. minor “theme”/design) but I try not to look at strollers 😁😂

Mickey’s Birthdayland opened at the Magic Kingdom in 1988 for Mickey’s 60th, became Mickey’s Starland by about 1990, and got the “Toontown Fair” upgrade after the opening of Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland in 1993…I think as late as 1995 or 1996.

It was called “Stargate” from opening through the 1994 Innoventions debut, when I believe is when it got the EU redo. I recall purple umbrellas outside and views of the gardens and waterways in that area before they were paved over. I remember liking the food but was a kid lol

I will be happy if the new backdrop hills hiding the show building for MMRR aren't constantly peeling and in need of paint/repair.

The main commercial strip in Saratoga reminds me of the Florida Main Street a bit but I think many a northeastern town had/has similar architecture.

I always I always thought of Disneyland’s Main Street as Midwest and Florida’s drawing from Eastern Victorian architecture (more ornate, detailed)…for example the railroad station is based on the original one in Saratoga, NY.

I wouldn’t be mad at a couple of more flat rides + a playground like the old “Honey, I Shrunk…” one in TSL, just to increase capacity. I like the Trixie idea and/or Jessie’s carousel from DCA.

Agreed. We were hot and hungry and it was fine but later we all realized we would have preferred Liberty Tree.

We had Liberty Tree lunch reservations in late July and when we got there they sat us in Diamond Horseshoe…same menu. Piano on stage played occasionally but hard to hear over the din of the lunch crowd.

I still find the use of generic “Disney Parks” bags the most ridiculous considering the lengths and expense they went to remove credit card and Coca Cola product names, etc from these lands. In addition to no BGM as it was deemed not thematically appropriate.
