Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

As I walk around listening to ‘For the First Time’ on repeat, thought the same thing - the original album was clever enough to include (nearly) the whole score. Give us those instrumentals, they were a great addition!

Disney's Live Action The Little Mermaid

Just got out as well and truly enjoyed it. Easily my favorite of the ‘Big Four’ Renaissance remakes, with Aladdin ironically number two. BatB and TLK were butchered, in comparison. Halle Bailey crushed it as Ariel. No one can replace Jodi, but this was no Emma Watson scenario - her new song is...

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Moving some thoughts over from the Moana/Zootopia thread: Add me to the choir here. Guardians is so much fun - you could strip the story entirely and still have a next-generation Space Mountain on steroids. That comparison comes up a lot, and I think it holds well. At this point, MK's Space...

News Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya to open in EPCOT this summer

I have good memories at Tokyo Dining, but agreed - this looks like a fun, inspired refresh. Love a good izakaya

SPOILERS: Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 3

Might be clichéd to say, but I truly found it to be the most enjoyable MCU movie since Endgame. Thank goodness, as the last few films have been a slog (NWH aside), and that's not even including Quantumania, which I happily skipped. The end even had me shedding some happy tears - what a great...

Changes coming to Rose & Crown?

Speaking of Indian food in the UK, spent a good amount of time there last month, and multiple parties (including one closer to Manchester and Edinburgh) said I had to try Dishoom. It didn't disappoint! In comparison, haven't eaten a proper meal at Rose & Crown in 15+ years, but this idea sounds...

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Exactly, Cosmic Rewind cost 10x more yet I’d rather ride it 100x more! RRR is trash, front row aside. It’s aesthetically trash, the theme is trash, lift is trash, ride experience is rough, painful trash; it’s absolutely terrible and an easy skip, whereas Cosmic Rewind is now the highlight of...

    Hagrids Motorbike vs. Cosmic Rewind

Felt the same way about Guardians, and not only re. Space Mountain! It also makes RnRC largely moot. Sure, RnRC has more speed and some inversions, but it feels so simple and rough in comparison. Cosmic Rewind is next-level fun and trounces both attractions. I’d also take it over Hagrid’s and...

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

The warehouse is necessary to make it feel like the whole thing is happening across the universe. As many have said, Space Mountain on steroids, with a fantastic, randomized soundtrack you can actually hear. And I hated the blue box during construction. Outdoor coaster would have just been an...

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Have to imagine it’s ride #14 where dancing along to a smooth rotating coaster through space no longer feels fun. 😬

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

13 rides in, and as someone who loves to dance, there isn’t a better ride experience set to music out there. Combine with a smooth, satisfying track layout, and no one will be topping it for a while. MK’s Space Mountain will snap your neck in comparison, and you can barely hear the soundtrack...

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Speaking for myself, this is my favorite ride in any theme park by a wide margin, and I have all the best to compare it to. It’s brought so much joy to Epcot, which really, really needed it. If they got a little too ambitious (or a lot) to make that happen, it was completely worth it in my eyes.

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

Eh. Basically my interpretation of the same issue is that they tried so hard to make the ride appropriate to its Epcot setting that they went a little overboard with the pre-shows and storytelling. That’s true, they did. But if the pre-shows are too much, and the ride itself is glorious for...

EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind SPOILER Thread

The criticisms might be valid, but ultimately we go to these parks to feel something. Sometimes it's emotion, sometimes it's inspiration, but fun is virtually always the baseline. The minute the parks no longer feel fun, that's when the desire to return truly dissippates. And for those who can...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

You're probably right, but these days I'm aiming to be an optimist with a long-term mindset. Certainly not expecting this announcement at D23 – more likely Tron gets an opening date (if it hasn't already).

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

The Tokyo announcement out of nowhere gives me hope someone will eventually see the light. I'm thinking that might happen once Space Mountain's demand completely drops off. In its current state, it's literal trash compared to both Guardians and Tron. Very easy comparisons to make, and it won't...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Agreed, it's certainly not a waste of space when it'll be the best ride (for those who tolerate coasters) on that side of the park! I'm detecting sarcasm haha, but Tron absolutely isn't a waste of space. It'll be a very solid addition, even if they could have integrated it better. If its...

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Even with that pyro constraint in place, it’s a fantastic show — the projections, fountains, and lasers ensure it still feels whole. I’m genuinely loving Momentous.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Perfect post IMO, having loved Tron in Shanghai. It doesn't come close to topping Guardians for me, but it'll still easily be in the top 3 as far as WDW's coasters go (behind Guardians and Everest). It'll also be in my top 3 MK attractions, alongside Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain. That's...

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

That's really the only flaw I can pinpoint compared to HEA (soundtrack feels like a lateral move, even if we might connect to one vs. the other), and it seems there's a logistical reason why they moved the pyro in this direction. Still, the fantastic projections and fountain work just might make...
