Douglas Rogers is a very accomplished film artist (Shrek, Tangled). WDI brought him onboard to design its new castles in Shanghai & Hong Kong. Thankfully, for those of us who enjoy concept art and the design process, Rogers has his own website showing off a LOT of art for these projects...

A couple images matching art with model: The above vista has brilliant layering of foreground, middleground and background (ice castle) when viewing from the hotel's main egress.

Note how the hotel wing that runs alongside the frozen showbuilding is thinner than the other wings. Only courtyard-facing rooms in that wing?

Here's an aerial to illustrate. It's definitely part of the hotel, but is going to cause some confusion, as in "what is that unthemed midrise modern building that is taller than the frozen summit?" Fingers crossed for a model of the complete hotel soon.

^I'd been hoping we'd get to see a detailed model soon. Rockwork looks great. Numerous buildings in the model are unfinished with little detail, which, as a model-lover, is disappointing. The thing that I am most interested in seeing is the hotel and how it interfaces the park...

The Tron box, both in Shanghai and in MK, is imagineering at its nadir. The problem isn't that it will be visible from all over the park and Lakes. The problem is it's a massive unthemed warehouse. All they needed to do was go the extra mile (i.e., be the Disney everyone here got hooked on)...

Just my opinion: The pics getting posted on themeparx make most areas look... to be kind... like a far cry from "the most expensive theme park ever built." The park is coming out well below my modest expectations. Minion land looks cheap. Volcano looks like paper mache with coaster killing...

At first I thought the background was a 'mountain' range. Then I realized it was the hotel. First pic I've seen showing how much in-park impact it will have. They have to get it right.

This was the isolated Frozen port set to go between Lost River and Port Discovery. That plan was scrapped, and now something akin to this will open in a couple years as the Frozen district of Fantasy Springs.

Unfortunately a blurry screengrab from the ImagiNations video, but this is the model of the cancelled Frozen port at Disneysea (note how small the Indy temple is next to it): It boggles my mind that so many of these incredible detailed models were created - for built and unbuilt projects...
