Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

Do we think Tokyo Disneyland will receive a new daytime parade for the 40th in 2 years? I cant help but feel Dreaming Up! hasn't had it's time yet. It's a too good parade for a run of 3-4 years imo.
well it depends on Which parks buys the floats, If other resorts have a bid on Dreaming Up! The chances having a new parade is High.

Like Paris bought the Fantasmic Barges from DisneySea.

Because of COVID, Dreaming Up! and Dreamlights(We all know TDR prob won't give that up!) hasn't and still not working over a year now, Would TDR really dump/make it available to other parks for the 40th after COVID?

Yeah that's what Im talking about.

On another note, you know what would be really cool? If the cardboard mountains on the new theatre were only a placeholder for the real rock work, aka Elsa's ice castle part coming with Fantasy springs. Imagine that!

Dreaming Up is a awesome parade. I could see TDL keeping it for awhile yet. If not I’m sure just about every other resort will be due for a new parade in a couple years.

that frozen area looks a lot bigger than I had thought it was gonna be, I love how they made the village on one side of a giant rock/mountain. And the peter pan ride facade looks aweome as well, all those cavern opening look great. This is gonna take DisneySea to another level and its already the best Disney Park

A couple images matching art with model:

The above vista has brilliant layering of foreground, middleground and background (ice castle) when viewing from the hotel's main egress.

The mix of IP is very strange, but I’m still very excited to see this land. The Peter Pan ride is of most interest to me. I want to see how it differs from PPF.

Peter Pan is quickly proving to be one of the most lucrative film properties in the parks for Disney.

Devil's advocate, but that's sort of a US mentality that parades need to stick around longer than 5 years. 5 years (even subtracting COVID closures), is a long time. Do people really need to watch the same parade for a decade?

Dreamlights sort of sticks the right balance though by keeping a parade longer running, but not stagnating.

Wonder if those teepees will make it into the final version?
I would love for them to keep it.
I hope they expand even more on the idea of Native American cultures...it can be done in a respectful way and it was always part of Walts legacy and culture, he was fascinated with it. Why ignore and erase o part of the human history?
I can't imagine this being considered cultural appropriation considering it's a THEME PARK, inspired by architectures and cultures from around the entire planet, in fact, leaving indigenous cultures out even seems kinda shady (the literal opposite to paying a tribute).
I mean come on, they have South American ancient temples and what not... why not a teepee?
Mouthy white snow-flakey americans can keep their "cultural appropriation" speeches , but I hope they bring Pocahontas to Europe & Asia.

Very excited about the model. Looks like the Tangled area will be the smaller land of the three, though I'm still very curious what is inside of that rockwork as it cannot be just a simple spinner as some rumors suggested.
It never was rumored to be a spinner?
Maybe you confuse it with Walt Disney Studios Paris 😅 There was a rumor it might get a Tangled spinner.
For Tokyo they planned a boat ride, there is even a river that takes you through the caves of that mountain, you can even see the loading area on some models. It'll be kind of like "Le Pays des Contes de Fees" in Paris or "Storybook Land Canal Boats" in California.

You might be asking that based off of the current irrational revisionism found in the US. I'm not sure, but if you are this is Japan where for the most part they don't play that.
True, TDL still has the Auction scene and no plans for a SM retheme. I think they (Disney) are trying to be extra cautious right now on what they put out (was it really worth spending money digitally removing Tiger Lilly for a Youtube video), but TDL really doesn't receive much attention from US media outlets/ social media users who might give Disney some flack for referencing the Indian scene from Peter Pan in something new.

Haha I’m sure I read that rumor somewhere a while ago, possibly a year or two. So glad to be wrong though. Tangled would make an amazing dark ride & what you’ve described sounds lovely! Very excited for all 3 attractions.

Do we know if any of this Lost Boys boat ride / flying ride is supposed to be partially outdoors? That archway with the sunlight in the top left of this photo sure looks like it could house a ride path.

Also, sort of off topic, but why does Tokyo ALWAYS get nice things!? Just look at the hallways and stairways in this theater!

Because OLC is willing to spend money and Disney isn't. And/or Disney has an incentive to push for Tokyo to do big and elaborate things since it's 100% profit for Disney.

I didn't get a chance to look at the videos in depth, but am I the only one weirded out by the fact that the surroundings are super elaborate but then in the middle of the area there's just huge paths and featureless greens as if they're still in 1983 Tokyo Disneyland mode? It just seems odd to me.
