    Epcot Monorail Station Design

I could be making this up, but I think I remember hearing it was designed so that the other line would right next to the current one in the same direction (I'd assume with loading and unloading on the same side of the platform for each train).

A small theme park in Orlando?

And I'm talking about creating a community theme park, definitely not the amusement places like Fun Spot.

A small theme park in Orlando?

Cypress gardens was taken over by the wild adventure guys - turning it into a low budget amusement park, and then later turned into legoland. So it's it's not really around anymore - that's what I'm talking about. It didn't last long enough to see the growth of Orlando into what it's become...

A small theme park in Orlando?

There's absolutely a market for something that caters to locals as a place for them to hang out away from tourists and take things at a slower pace. (If cypress gardens had lasted long enough and was in a better location I think that's exactly the kind of thing)

BRING BACK THE FAT TREES! And plant more everywhere there's more than a 10x10 expanse of concrete!

What will happen when the Skyliner breaks down?

Pretty sure it's customary for there to be a diesel generator or engine at the wheelhouse in case of a power outage. Evacuation would probably only be if there was some kind of mechanical failure or other issue at the station.

DHS Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Because when Universal build's a screen based ride - it's literally just a bunch of rooms with one large screen and you watch a movie. In some cases, the screens barely even have sets connecting them. Disney, on the other hand has been steadily moving towards using screens and projections in...

DHS Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Flight of Passage's ride film is 10k at 60FPS. It also uses the latest generation laser projectors which allow for perfect black levels and much brighter highlights than traditional projectors, increasing the overall contrast, which increases color depth, which increases perceived resolution. In...

I don't recall anything I ate there being even a hint spicy.

Hey Everyone! A quick update in regards to this project. It got me into grad school! I just recently accepted a fellowship to attend SCAD and get my MFA in themed entertainment design! My plans to take over the theme park world are one step closer Muwahahahaha! Thanks all for you kind words...

What is this, the WDW monorail?!

Looks like masking left over from painting.

DHS "Black box" interchangeable dark ride coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios?

Or they develop a way to secure the set pieces without tarnishing the floor (built in anchors on a grid perhaps - yes that doesn't allow completely free design but design always is bounded by some building constraints.) Or develop a version of the trackless ride system that doesn't need a...

DHS "Black box" interchangeable dark ride coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios?

Well the nice thing about a trackless system is that it can have infinite layouts. Especially if the interior walls and sets are designed to be easily repositioned or swapped. Movie sets do it all the time. And if you're not designing for long term durability then it's a really attractive option.

DHS "Black box" interchangeable dark ride coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios?

I've always thought such an idea would be really cool! Just as a thing for traveling ride and show concepts. Not as a thing within a theme park.

DHS Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

This. The only issue with NRJ is its wait to ride length ratio. Whether changes should have been made given the designer's knowledge of how popular attractions are at WDW is up for debate I suppose - but I'm not terribly confident that much of that was in their control.

Idea to solve the Submarine Voyage, Autopia, and Monorail swiss cheese. And more.

You mean kinda like this? really not a bad idea at all - would take some visionary management though. For more info on the art: http://insightsandsounds.blogspot.com/2017/03/rare-art-for-disneylands-unbuilt.html

Why were the original Fantasyland dark rides so dark?

Disney movies themselves of that time period were a lot darker than people tend to remember them. Most of them have at least 1 throughly traumatizingly dark and scary scene. It was Disney's way of storytelling - that you needed something really dark to make the happy ending matter essentially.

Is there a "typical or average" WDW visitor/family?

My guess is it's probably most likely to be families from the south and Midwest United States with low 6 figure family incomes and kids between 5 and 14. Also a significant amount of international tourists with similar demographics.

    Transportation to Universal

You'd take metro link from the ART station to union station, then transfer to the Red line.

    Transportation to Universal

Renting a car is probably easiest and cheapest. Though if you're doing it on a weekday you might be able to use a combination of Metrolink or even Amtrack + Metro rail services. The LA metro stops right at Universal. You could do it on the weekend too but the metro link schedule isn't as good...
