    Hoop Dee Doo?

Yes, it is especially good for groups. They will even be more likely to highlight your table in the show.

    Hoop Dee Doo?

So, so glad to see this return!!! It is truly immersive and fun and wonderfully themed. It is one of the few shows today that really allows people to have a taste of vaudeville and old medicine shows. (Think the traveling medicine man - the Wizard - from The Wizard of Oz, or better yet, the...

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

Another question: What part of “village” aesthetic is this potential addition to the Polynesian Village?

News Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show will not reopen and is permanently closed according to reports

Cannot agree more, although I have been to the show. Both that and Hoop De Doo were great evenings out with a nice, relaxing family entertainment that contrasted nicely with the frenetic energy of the theme parks — like you said, rounding out the resort experience.

News Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show will not reopen and is permanently closed according to reports

This is absolutely sad. A Polynesian resort without a luau. It and the landscape and tiki torches really made the theming of the Polynesian the best on property. Now we get a new “Marriott” tower overwhelming the beautiful longhouses. So much for sight lines and theming. As for the press...

What will it take to stop you from going to WDW?

That’s pretty much me too. Prices are crazy right now, and the simple pleasures are harder to find without a price. I used to enjoy it so much, but I just can’t afford it.

EPCOT EPCOT's World Showcase concrete improvements move to the Japan pavilion

He said “getting rid of perfectly good concrete,” meaning that this was unnecessary expense (and not maintenance). In my opinion it also moves from colorful and complementary to bland and normal — not what we expect from the experimental prototype community…

    RIP Tim Considine

Yep. MeTV still has him every morning at 6:30 a.m. in “My Three Sons,” which really had a lot of Disney feel to it. I know that he and David Stollery (Marty) were lifelong friends in real life, even before the series. I am sure that he is hurting right now. Prayers for him and Tim’s family.

    RIP Tim Considine

Another of my Disney heroes has passed away. He was Spin on “Spin and Marty,” as well as main characters in “The gy Dog,” “The Hardy Boys,” and of course, “My Three Sons.” In interviews, he seemed to have his head on straight and had a good grip on the fleeting nature of fame. I wish some...

Any news on a return date for Hoop-De-Doo Revue and the Polynesian Luau shows?

I really hope Hoop comes back. It’s a nice respite and unique. It is not only a good, well-themed show, it is one of the few glimpses we have today at the humor of vaudeville and the touring medicine shows of the 1800s. It is also a great tie-back to Disneyland. It was developed from the...

Any news on a return date for Hoop-De-Doo Revue and the Polynesian Luau shows?

Still makes no sense for a Hawaiian themed resort not to have a luau. Period.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

Boom. I want to reiterate his true statement. Like Walt said about “Alice in Wonderland,” it lacks heart — and this is why.

Restaurant capacity and live entertainment restrictions are currently limiting Walt Disney World theme park attendance according to Bob Chapek

Still no comparatively good reason (as in comparing to other dining facility safety) that Hoop-De-Doo Revue is not back. A classic and one of the best-themed shows or dinners on WDW property. Of, course it came from the early days, when theming was great and it did not need a movie tie-in...

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

As long as they are able to pull through. Is the port open on both ends? I thought it was closed on three sides.

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

Do we know if this box truck will be backing into the loading bay? I ask because, if it will, there is also the real-world need for the unmistakable truck backup sound and the need for every driver to get it exactly right every time also, with people on board. The only other way to make it...

News Disney hikes the price of Mickey Bars and Dole Whip along with hundreds of other food and beverage items at Walt Disney World

You know, I completely understand you. I am not going any time soon. Haven’t been in five years. Used to have an annual pass. But it has gotten ridiculous. But if a special opportunity came up I might do it. Still too sad that it has come to this point, however. It was truly an...

Are there NO Florida resident hotel rates for WDW in October?

I am not a novice to WDW, but even I cannot believe the prices right now. When a $300+/night hotel is called a “moderate,” something is way off kilter. (I know many will disagree, but I just say that is true, especially when the very company charging it argues that their movie stars are...

Are there NO Florida resident hotel rates for WDW in October?

I want to make sure I am seeing this right. I see no Florida resident rates for WDW in October. Researching for a resident friend who isn’t a regular, but I was surprised not to see anything. They are hoping to go at least part of the last week of October. Also, does Universal have Florida...
