To be fair, it was Disney who gave us concept art that sure looked like a completely new vehicle, it wasn’t completely crazy for us to think that. Hopefully the attraction sets themselves get more love and all could be forgiven.

I think it’s fair to argue that the ride vehicles were in need of a replacement or upgrade. For an attraction that still experiences as much downtime as it does (even non-weather related), I’d have to guess that the vehicles are one of the culprits. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

This is fitting since 21st century Disney can best be represented by a timeshare, no doubt it’s where they’ve invested most. Then they wonder why the parks are so crowded. Just when we think they can’t go lower, they dig a little deeper.

So glad we’re selling our DVC while it’s still worth something. It gave us close to 20 years of vacations but it’s time to move on.

Anyone else expecting to see more done at this point? Of course this is the same company still building outdoor seating in Toy Story Land three years later!

Sadly it’s gone and not likely coming back. Unfortunately being outdoors and weather dependent complicated things all too often. I think WDW was ok seeing it go away in favor of more DVC. Definitely a shame to lose something unique though.

I completely agree on all points. No need to have the final scene in today’s future. I’d actually prefer they go back to the original final scene to avoid a time warp that makes no sense. As you said, it has historical significance and deserves to stick around.
