Going to WDW after a heart attack

Thank God for modern medicine!! And doctors with good advice! My dad is going to be 70 this year and like Jim, has had 3 heart attacks too. He's had a couple of bypass surgeries and seems pretty good today considering. He started eating a bit healthier and walks something like 5miles a day...

Going to WDW after a heart attack

Really glad to hear that your husband is doing well. It is definitely really scary to go through, and I didn't even have the bypass surgery like your husband. It's a definite wake-up call, that's for sure. I don't know what it is about us men reaching that magical "40", but it sounds like our...

Going to WDW after a heart attack

Thanks for all the well-wishes and kind words, everyone! And thanks for all the advice - very much appreciated! :) Like I said, I am home and on the mend (off work for a while, so THAT is kinda nice) and listening to everything my family doctor and heart doctor are telling me. I'm looking at...

Going to WDW after a heart attack

So after logging off of my computer (and this site) on Feb. 17 at my usual 4:30ish am, I climbed into bed only to be awoke at 7am out of a dead sleep with wicked chest pains. I thought maybe I just had bad indigestion or heartburn since I had been taking tums before bedtime for about a week or...

Do you know someone who didn't enjoy their disney trip??

Four trips with no ADR's and going to the parks late AND during Canadian Spring Break (which coincidentally is this week), which is one of THE busiest times of the year to go down, and yet my family and I are all hooked on WDW for life now. In other words, people can still have those variables...

How busy are the parks this weekend?

Canadian Spring Break. I've been 4 times since 2005 on our Spring Break, and let me tell you, I won't be heading down there on another one. The parks are always crazy busy and the lines are super long! I live on the U.S./Canada border up here and the cars were lined up at the bridge crossing...

Stuff You Always Buy But Leave At The End of Trip

We drive down and brought a small, dorm room size fridge with us last trip in 2011 (this was before all rooms had fridges). My wife had bought it at a garage sale (pretty cheap too) the year before and we were using it at home but didn't want it any more, so we loaded it up in the van and used...

    Star struck at Disney....

Another Steven Tyler sighting here. It was during our first trip back in March 2005 and he got on Aerosmith's Rock N Roller Coaster just before we were to be seated. They walked him in from the other side where the CM was standing and put him on the ride quickly before launching him on his way...

    Are We There Yet!

We drive down from Canada and it takes around 21 hours. We usually leave our house between 5-6am on a Friday morning and stop in Adel, GA between 10-11pm for the night before waking up and driving the rest of the way the next morning. As stupid and shocking as this may sound, I actually LIKE the...

    That Final Farewell!

We usually spend our last day (morning) at Typhoon Lagoon relaxing and basking in the warm, Florida sun before hopping into the van after lunch for our LONG 18-22 hour drive back up north to the usually still cold and snowy home-front.

New Requirements for Canadian and British Drivers?

Saw it on CTV News Thursday night at 6pm and then when I looked it up online around 9pm, it said that it had already been stopped (temporarily). Showed people lined up inside CAA offices complaining big time. Can't say that I blame them. Glad to hear that CAA is refunding the $25 to the people...

    Favorite Disney World Souvenir

A cool Mickey watch I got for something like $25 (maybe cheaper) at the POTC attraction due to us spending $50 or more in the store there.

What item do you get on every trip to bring home?

Since we only go during the kids Spring Break, I always look for a cool Mickey t-shirt with "Spring Break" and "WDW" and the year on it for some reason. Has become my own little tradition.

I may have crossed the line...Oops

Was just telling my wife today about a guy at work who questioned why we keep going to WDW instead of "other" places. Sure, I'm all for visiting other places some day. But luckily my wife and kids share my love for WDW, and when we decide we are going to spend our hard earned money on a family...

OMG. The Jumbo Turkey Leg Is A Emu leg!

LOL - as long as she doesn't buy you a shirt with a bullseye on it and proceed to pull out a bow and arrow, you're all set! ;)

OMG. The Jumbo Turkey Leg Is A Emu leg!

Sorry hatter...tried one once and was NOT impressed, so no convincing from THIS Canuck! Whether it's emu, turkey, or even Big Bird's leg...there is no way I am eating one of those things again!

    How Long and How Long

Would have been way cool to see, for sure! And isn't that the way with kids these days. Funny how I grew up with the original Star Wars trilogy back in my childhood, yet my son can answer ANY question on any of the movies or fill me in when I don't quite get something about them! Gotta love it! :D

    How Long and How Long

We did manage to catch some Star Trek experience, or whatever the heck it was called, at the KSC the day we were there. My daughter was so pumped to see it, only to be disappointed (along with a bunch of other older people) after sitting through it. Would love to be down in WDW for SWW some...
