Video - Splash Mtn finale Jan 22 (all animatronics broken)

I can only imagine what that must be like for someone to ride the first time. Instead of a great ending to a great ride, there's this eerie, motionless let-down. By now, I think it's gone beyond bad show. It's frankly a bit unsettling and even a bit scary to see those things so motionless...

Sorcerer Hat Stage...when is it leaving?

The Chinese Theater is only a facade for the attraction queue, and is barely connected to the Great Movie Ride show building as is. There's no reason to change it as long as the entrance corridor for the park is the 30s-40s Hollywood Boulevard. Besides, Disney just made a replica of an old...

Not Disney related but a serious issue that needs our attention!

This ties into Obama's speech in WDW today. Why else would Disney allow (actually, they probably invited him) the park to be shut down if they didn't think one favor extends to another.

Tutto Italia in Epcot's Italy Pavilion to get new wine bar during major refurbishment

That's why I go to Modern on State Street. There's enough good restaurants all over the state anyway to put anything at Tutto Italia to shame.

    New Talking Heads

I erroneously clicked on this thread thinking David Byrne was back together with Jerry Harrison, Tina Weymouth, and Chris Frantz. I guess that this must not be the place?

Would a third Disney pard in the US hurt the 2 existing parks?

Four words: Reedy Creek Improvement District. Disney has in Florida complete control over what they do with their property, and no other jurisdiction in the country will allow them to even approach the autonomy they have in Florida. Even Floridian lawmakers want to curb Disney's power...

Tutto Italia in Epcot's Italy Pavilion to get new wine bar during major refurbishment

Agreed! The Italian pavilion needs good, real Italian food. Though am I alone in thinking Via Napoli pizza is very similar to New Haven-style? (Our families pretty much all came from the Amalfi coast, but surely there must be differences.) I would hate to lose the tromp l'oeil decor in the...

Or whenever they want to "plus" the Paris Studios park.

    Hey hey hey!

I wouldn't've done it if I knew he was a crybaby. Actually, it's really hard to use a Walter quote on a family-friendly board.

What's going on with Epcot Future World?

Even as an 8-year-old, that Radok pre show was amazing. As an adult, I would love to experience and appreciate a piece of art like that in person. Pretty much goes for all of the old EPCOT Center, actually, which is probably why I love World Showcase so much.

    Why no Rapunzel/Tangled?

I don't know how much room is in there, but if we're supposed to be meeting Mickey in the backstage area/dressing rooms, then maybe the current princess area will be themed to the stage portion of the theater. Perhaps we'll even get a small auditorium, proscenium, etc. Could be a second coming...

And that's probably what is going to happen, so it can be brought indoors to avoid the weather.

    Disney doing buisness

Usually they move after 10 or 15 years when another city hands them a subsidy to relocate. New York area suburbs do this all the time, and then the businesses always end up trying to relocate back to New York (a la UBS in Stamford, CT). They may keep a few jobs in their old facilities, but they...

    Skyway Station Area Redesign

I hope they find a way of keeping the architectural chronology in effect; we all know Liberty Square and Frontierland work in tandem from the 1690s to the 1880s, but that part of Fantasyland also worked to that effect with the Tudor and Bavarian architecture of the 16th and 17th century. The...

Hi folks, just saying hi! Hope someone else here likes Disney and the origin of my name as much as I do!
