    Living With The Land Narration

I'd go sit like ten inches from his face and stare at him completely motionless throughout the entire ride.

Then I'll make a genuine clarification in friendliness and good faith. Frozen introduces Hans as the love interest of one of the two protagonists. They share the rather lovely Love is an Open Door scene together. Subsequently their love story is not followed up anymore as the movie progresses...

    DHS 35th

Happy 35th Disney-MGM! More than any other this park has seen multiple versions of itself. We all have our favourite, and mine isn't the current park but I hope it is for those visiting it now. My DHS at its best I loved it as much as the MK and EPCOT, which are the parks of my formative...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

No, you I'm saying you simply misread it, as usual more eager to find fault than to make a genuine effort to what is actually said.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I thought Phantom thoroughly disappointing in 1999. I cried about it on the internet together with the rest of the pitchforked mobs. But time has been unexpectedly kind to it. It's not a good movie, but it is surprisingly rewatchable. You're never bored, as one is half the time ploughing...

Yes, captain obvious, that was the very point. The essence of the story is Anna redeeming Elsa through her unwavering love. Hans is a needless distraction, failing as both a love and villain story.

Pixar Fest Was Fun, Fun, Fun!... May It Live In Our Hearts Forever!

All of Iger's early big IP brand acquisitions have lost their lustre the past few years. Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars. Sure enough brands/IPs can come and go, they can have a natural lifespan, and TWDC got their money's worth out of each of those. But their diminished status does undermine Iger's...

Elsa should have been the villain, plunging her realm into cold darkness out of spite then being redeemed by her sister's love. That story is right there, but they seemed to back down from it, instead introducing Anna's lover as the villain five minutes before the end, ruining both her love...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Current WDI can't tell a story, doesn't understand architecture, sucks at placemaking, and is unable to identify what does or does not make an attraction fun - for which I blame the omnipresence of computer screen design, being able to experience every aspect of a ride virtually all throughout...

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

That whole Nationale 7 and à travers le temps area were so charming. I loved it there. :'( Best stunt show anywhere indeed. Indiana Jones at DHS should take some notes. You can tell a whole movie-worthy story with a stunt show. I love coasters, but does Asterix really need 468 of them? Plus...

The Highest of Highs! - What is the pinnacle attraction of Imagineering at WDW past and present?

Horizons The best ride in the best theme park the world has ever seen. Videos don't convey the scale. Horizons suspended you mid-air in front of multiple screens larger than those of Soarin', and that was just one part.

Rivers of Light - Time for a reevaluation?

Same. I never took to the music the way I did to RoE, which is divine. I tried to like the RoL soundtrack, but it felt flat and emotionless to me, except in some atmospheric parts

MK Frontierland Shootin' arcade to close and replaced with DVC Member lounge

Adventure and exploration, those two essential elements of the MK, require open doors. Not closed ones everywhere you go: AL Veranda -> Club 33k FL shooting gallery -> Timeshare Airport lounge Castle & Entrance FL -> BBB TL entrance -> dessert party

News New 'Forces of Nature' acrobatic show debuts at EPCOT

I love it! I think this is superb. Weird, abstract, and as befits a Disney park: corny in any other setting but Disney. EPCOT, FW, needs a certain abstraction, for you to project your own imagination onto. In old EPCOT I'd have put this somewhere between Land and Imagination. Downsides: I'm...

What is the fait of the Imagination fountains now?

The fountains got ambitious and wanted to be used as baptismal fonts so they converted to Catholicism

    Rides you were/are scared of

They go surprisingly fast! I am genuinely scared on only two rides. Indeed the Astro Orbiter, and Mission: Space. I guess I'll never make it as an astronaut. 🤷

They closed Quest just when I took a string of December, February and hurricane vacations. I could have used that place!

News Soarin' Over California returning to EPCOT for a limited time

It's amazing how much you could update a movie by inserting a few contemporary scenes. You can keep your Rocky Mountain flyover shot for thirty years. And then send a crew with nine iPhones on a drum to shoot ten seconds of purple-haired Montréal youth to update the film.
