What items do you bring on a cruise?

I will tell you that we were mortified the first night to find that our hostess had tidied up the entire room, not just normal turn down and things of that nature, DH was very embarassed to find the boxershe had been wearing hanging on one of the hooks  We now take a pop up laundry basket...

How Do You Countdown the Days??

Thank you so much!! They've "evolved" quite a bit since the first one, some times they're tied in with our resort (Brother Bear for a Wilderness Lodge visit or Lion King for Animal Kingdom Lodge visit) and sometimes not but it's so fun!

How Do You Countdown the Days??

That's a great idea! The big flaw in my calendar is that you can only go 41 days out on the first page and 42 days out on the additional pages. How do you use the punches? To punch the shapes into the links?

    Funny Things Said In WDW!

On a recent trip, while riding Small World, a father was telling his girls every single country we were in. One was the winter nations but my favorite was the country of Polynesia...

How Do You Countdown the Days??

So, we're making our annual Spring Break trip and I just finished our calendar. I make one every trip to count down the days we have left. I used my Cricut (One of my very favorite toys) to make the letters and numbers and also the Mickey heads to cover the number as the days get smaller...

    Big and Tall...rides?

DH is going to kill me if he sees I posted this but just to answer honestly, he is over 450 lbs, 5'8. I agree the seats at American Idol were definitely a tight fit for both of us (was about 250 at the time) but even though his weight is in the abdominal region, he hasn't had trouble with...

Things You Need To Buy Pre-Trip

In addition to what's already been mentioned here, I wanted to to add that one thing I find myself needing is medication for leg cramps. One brand I use has the active ingredient of Magnesium and the other is Quinine Sulfate (I think). It's the weirdest thing, I never have trouble with this at...

Castaway Cay: Excursion or Chill Out??

We went on the snorkel excursion and I'll definitely do that again. Not so many fish in the snorkel areas on Castaway Cay. Also, the first time we did not go to Serenity Bay. Won't be making that mistake again. I'm pretty sure it was the setting for more than one Jimmy Buffett song

Several Questions from a first time cruiser!

I'm so sorry for your losses. My second ever visit to DL was for New Years after my father passed (in August) and I found it to be a mixed bag of emotions to say the least. We've cruised twice, once in July and the next time in December, both on the Dream out of Port Canaveral. The first time...

    Experiences for those w/motion sickness

Well, I have to say that I too am pretty sensitive. Maybe not as much as you, but sensitive nonetheless. Our first cruise on the Dream was in July and on the way out to see on the first night I didn't get nauseated but I was very unsteady but the rest of the cruise I was fine. We went on a 3...

Ladies...what do you carry? purse, backpack, pack?

I always like to use the drawstring backpacks they sell in the park. The strings are long enough that, even though I'm a big girl they aren't tight on me (I can't stand anything tight on me), they're waterproof and DH doesn't mind carrying it sometimes. We can carry everything in it; camera...

    Suggestions on Character Dining

I have to respectfully disagree with CP and CM. I've eaten at both of them and I think the character experience at both is great but as far as food, my favorite is Hollywood and Vine at DHS. I think that's the best as far as food goes, the characters are Handy Manny, Little Einsteins and Oso...

    March MK EMH

Hello Again! I just wanted to update the post with my new information. I called Walt Disney Travel Company to confirm because the calendar didn't show any EMH for MK in that time period at all. They confirmed the information I found here on this site, that there are evening EMH on March 11...

    March MK EMH

Hi All... I am planning our dining for Spring Break and was checking the EMH and was surprised to see that, according to DisneyWorld.com, there are NO EMH during March 9 through March 14 at Magic Kingdom. I checked the operating hours here and it is showing evening hours on the 11th. Does...

    pooh sized guests?

Well, at the risk of getting myself in trouble by saying this... DH is very large... over 400 and he hasn't had trouble riding anything at all other than Mullholland Madness in Disney's California Adventure. I am "Pooh Sized" myself and we got on SM with another guest who was the same size as...
