    Sonic Themed Land at WDW

I get that the franchise has been pretty divisive for the past 15 years or so, but divisive doesn’t equal unpopular. The fact that people still care enough about the games to keep up with them means there’s still a devoted fan base willing to consume other pieces of Sonic media. Also, let’s not...

Again, that’s fair criticism. TSL does seem to just sort of happen no matter where you enter it.

Fair enough, but I think think the Grand Avenue entrance to Galaxy’s Edge does essentially what you’re saying even if it’s subtle.

Therein lies the problem. When the working studio aspect went away, the park needed to take on movies from a new angle. Once the demand IP lands arose from both fans and the general public alike, the park’s future was pretty much a forgone conclusion even before any changes were even announced...

    Unpopular Disney World Opinions

I get what you’re saying about the area transitions, but like I said, you can argue over the execution of how certain elements are implemented all you want, but that doesn’t change the thematic appropriateness of something within the park. Also, keep in mind that the LA/Old Hollywood sections...

    Unpopular Disney World Opinions

Yes, the initial premise of MGM being one part working studio and one part theme park is a bit different from being a full on theme park that’s supposed to fully immerse you in the worlds of various movies. However, even in those days, it wasn’t particularly discerning about what IP did or...

    Unpopular Disney World Opinions

This may be more of an unpopular opinion than I thought before reading this thread, so I’m going to say it here. If there’s any park where movie based IP can never be a bad thing, wouldn’t it be a park themed to movies? You could argue over the execution of how certain elements are implemented...

Best ride in all of WDW?

My picks for each park: MK: Splash Mountain EPCOT: Spaceship Earth DHS: Rise of the Resistance (based on POV’s) DAK: Kilimanjaro Safaris As for my vote, I ultimately decided to go with Kilimanjaro safaris. It was between that and Splash, but seeing just how overatted FoP is solidified my choice.

So, since this basically confirms that they’re going forward with this project on the cheapest route possible, what’ll happen to these leg supports? Will they just paint them white too? If so, why did they just remove the matching structures in between them? In fact, why did they even...

Good thinking. If the planets aren’t going to spin ever again, why keep them?

That’s concerning. While I don’t think the Astro Orbiter necessarily has to go full Star Jets to work within the aesthetic they’re moving towards, the ride in its current state is still too distinctly TL’94 and shouldn’t go completely unaltered.

The original Tron concept art showed off a nice exterior remodel for the building. Granted, this was also the same piece of concept art that had the now removed escalator entrance in it, but I really hope the changes shown are still part of the plan considering that it’s one of the closest...

Agreed. Agreed again. Something like that would certainly help it blend in with TRON at night.

Well, next year isn’t any “next year”, it’s the year of 50th. I’m really hoping they don’t disappoint on the refurb front.

While I agree that the CoP sign is a good example of how to bridge the gap between two styles, I disagree that TL ‘94 should be the style to transition from. The original TL style is at least sleek and clean like Tron is while TL’ 94 was the exact opposite with most of its features being made...

Look on the bright side. The fact that the legs weren’t cheaply altered while under the scrims means there’s still hope for them to be properly removed later. My guess is their removal would also necessitate the removal of the red neon lights under the track, so I assume that process won’t begin...
