I, too, have no idea what he has done to deserve head of Disneyland Resort. Maybe someone else knows more? I have never heard a bad thing about him - but never a good thing either. Maybe that's what corporate wants - a quiet leader...
I have a strong feeling there is a quiet agreement to let her hold the position for a year or so - so her exit doesn't give the impression she is being escorted out. While sounding impressive, I wonder how much she will actually be responsible for now in this new role.
I am surprised we haven't seen something from the Disney Parks Blog yet. They can't just brush a new WDW President and DL President under the rug, can they?
Totally. I think the old farts that must come up with this stuff are still using phrases like "groovy" "stylin'" or "boogie". It takes a lot for me to watch a show, and feel embarassed for the performers, myself, and the person standing next to me....but Disney never fails when they try things...
There is still "magic" - but also is the realization that the "magic well" can run dry under the wrong leadership. I think many of us find the "magic" right now in the hope that things will change soon. Things can always turn around for the resort - but now is certainly not an amazing time for...
Not arguing that someone should be well informed before arriving. But I didn't interpret that the OP didn't know what the dining plan was - as much as the chisled down version of it did not meet expectations. Sometimes we go into something with an open mind that maybe it's not that bad. If it...
BUT doesn't make the reaction or feeling upon leaving any less valid. I think the purpose of these trip report threads is to praise and properly criticize. I think a lot of people (even Disney vacation veterans) are booking trips they fully anticipate to enjoy and be "magical". Only upon...
The OP is bringing up complaints that have been discussed countless times on these forums - So not exactly sure why some posters are acting as if these aren't valid concerns in the fan community. The Dining Plan has been whittled down while the price has been raised. Management has put CMs' into...
It is amazing that TDO is still holding onto a philosophy of running something into the ground - and THEN deciding what to do. There should be backup plans for backup plans for an operation like WDW. I am simply baffled by the disconnect of management from what they are managing....
Dear Mr. Staggs, I am assuming your announcement is not getting the overwhelming positive feedback you expected. Perhaps now would be a good time to address some exciting expansion plans for WDW. There is so much that I am sure has been planned for and decided on (Downtown Disney, Hollywood...
Nothing is breaking the bank at WDW. However, inefficiency issues and haphazard scheduling such as this over all the various segments of the resort do create a huge waste of money and resources over the course of even just one day. It' not just the 8 cast members standing around the AK parking...
I just hope they lay off people in the right areas. Amazingly, I have found there to be an incredible amount of cast members working around WDW - probably too many. Do you really need 8 people in the Animal Kingdom parking lot helping me park on a Sunday morning? No. The last few months, I...
It feeds into that TDO does not feel they need to do anything special at all. DL AP's are still excited because they have the Golden Horseshoe for weeks to come. They are rightfully satisified with that. WDW's first (lame) announcement concluded last night. Now there is nothing going on. I...
Yep. They did. Of course, I suppose the weeks that they cannot come up with anything, they will just do a merchandising push like Week 2. I tried to give WDW a break last week, because they didn't need a big promotion to help boost attendance - but this next week will be fairly slow. It...
