Ahhh...those were the days. Back when Disney didn't make announcements simply to boost that week's stock price, only to turn around and shelve the announcment and pretend it was never made....

Well, this doesn't sound like projections that would bring about a Star Wars land, DHS redo, and Avatar - in addition to the rumored projects for Disneyland. If anything, something like this would encourage Disney to continue their "wait and see" philosophy before giving anything the greenlight.

I would just be thrilled for anything of substance to be done at this point. The rumor mill keeps spinning, but we seem to be going nowhere. And given that we have now begun the new fiscal year, and there seems to be no real buzz of an announcement anytime soon, I can't help but feel like we...

Amazingly, this will probably all be completed before we see anything new from Disney. Something has to give at the Mouse House. They need to pull the trigger on something if they are going to take a half decade on any project anymore.

This doesn't have anything to do with how long it takes them to build something. Just sayin.

Not to say the PLAN isn't to move Avatar there, but there is cost savings regardless, by closing off the "camp area" which was really only used for meet and greets and the show. By reducing the park's footprint, there are significant savings in maintenance, upkeep, etc.

A few thoughts....1) It gives the illusion of "something's happening" 2) An excuse to build a permanent, enclosed home for FotLK (which will rate well with guests), 3) One hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

I agree. And given that it takes forever to move or greenlight any decisions even within Disney internally - when you add a third party like James Cameron - good luck getting anything approved. I have been absent from the discussion boards here for awhile, to take a break in the hopes that...

Honestly, I can totally see them waiting....and waiting...and waiting. The construction in Downtown Disney, along with whatever changes/expansion is coming to DHS, will be a great excuse to push the project into the next decade or cancel it all together.

Because at this rate, we will probably all be in wheelchairs before it's completed? That alone is a failure in my book. Disney's projections for this project over 2 years ago will certainly not be relevant now or whenever they actually decide to break ground. And that will be another...

October 1 is a week away. September is usually a popular time to announce the next year's projects, right? So...with no hint of an announcement coming soon, I am starting to think we are gearing up for another year of nothing....?
