    Disney Springs construction begins

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I didn't see it. Is the old Adventurer's Club building being re-purposed or torn down and replaced, and either way, what is going into that exact space? Such a construction project right now - wow! I will have to drive over and have a look around...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

I missed this when it happened, but apparently none other than Joe Rohde has promised to fix the Yeti, "someday." He swears he will, so it must be true. http://thesocialmouse.com/2013/08/11/joe-rohde-i-will-fix-the-yeti-someday-i-swear/

He's leaving his post as CFO. So, the giant evil is leaving to do what, does one wonder? Running "The Gap?" Taking over at IBM? Not exactly . . . http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-06-01/jay-rasulo-leaves-disney-cfo-role-for-post-advising-ceo-iger?cmpid=linkedin.company He's...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

I respectfully disagree with your impression. It seemed to me the yeti lunging at the car made you feel that it was really going to succeed at getting you. It was impressive and made people think "Did that just really happen? Let's ride again!" I don't think that was only my own impression...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

I've never heard of "Walt's Dreaming Tree." Maybe the tree could be purchased by the Walt Disney Company and made into benches for the Studios in Burbank and the Disneyland park where people could enjoy a rest and do some daydreaming themselves.

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

Great post - and you've captured why I broke up this year with D23. :( Dishing it off to the Disney Store for service and renewals was the first strike against it. Does anyone actually like dealing with the Disney Store's telephone number and website? I sure don't. The second strike was...

maybe even less than $5 in 1982 for a new hire, but considerably more than minimum wage of $3.35.

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

You've touched on what I believe is part of the unacknowledged change in Disney over the past generation. When I actually was an MKCP in 1985, we were paid what I considered to be well over minimum wage to do a minimum wage job. Disney "only" employed about 10,000 people at the time and the...

Trip Report It's going to be a magical-why is it so hot-where is the churro cart-as it happens trip report.

Is there no-one here who wants to make a deposit? No wonder, greedy goblins will never give it back. Keep moving forward, keep moving. . .

    DAK AVATAR land construction progress

Tree of life is not really that tall, is it? It doesn't seem that way when I'm in the park, although it has been awhile. One would think floating mountains are taller than a big tree.

What Harry Potter movies to watch?

Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire should do if you don't have time for the entire 7 books. Have fun!

I'd have thought your kids were older, so how about that? Have a great time and don't let updates get in the way of your fun time at Disney!

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

Yes, if a person is determined to see a movie then reviews won't stop them. Afterwards, if they give an honest rating of what they thought and enough others do as well then people on the fence might be influenced to pass or give it a try. Netflix & Rotten Tomatoes user ratings have proven to...

yeah, Rotten Tomatoes has not been kind to Tomorrowland. 50% the last I checked. Twitter posts are a mixed bag of liking the movie and disappointed. This one has Red Box rental all over it.

Do you think Disney will finally fix the Yeti after Universal opens their new King Kong ride?

@marni1971 is on the record in the Everest effects thread saying regardless of what would need to be done, the ride would not have to shut down to repair the yeti. Who knows what it would take to fix the yeti, but there are some people who seem to speak with authority who say unequivocally that...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

Welcome to the forums! Thank you for posting your thoughts. Speculation and innuendo are often unsettling, and often times unnecessarily so. Not everything conveyed by unnamed sources pans out. Remember 2013 was going to be the last time Osborne Lights would be seen at the Studios Park...

Do you think Disney will finally fix the Yeti after Universal opens their new King Kong ride?

@kap91, in what way are you disagreeing with @Chef Mickey 's statement? The feature has been broken for many years now. Disney has not rushed to restore it to working order. You both seem to be saying there will be no rush to make repairs even once Avatarland is open. For all anyone knows...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

There is no shortage of Disney haters in the mainstream media. You would have thought Disneyland was handing out smallpox last fall. What is the belief among those who are suggesting Disney has a major problem in China as to the reason this hasn't been picked up by Disney's competitors in...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

Why has the Yeti not been fixed? Quoted for agreement. Too many good Disney fans are giving Disney Parks management a free pass on the company's largest ever audio-animatronic. In the unlikely event anyone in Disney Parks management is checking this thread: my family and I have skipped the...

    David Letterman's final show

It makes me happy to remember David Letterman's early days with his late show. They were up in the Rockefeller Center and deeply in the shadow of Johnny Carson so it seemed he had the freedom to do whatever he wanted. The show took a lot of risks that paid off with young viewers. As a "for...
