    Disney Busses vs. Driving Ourselves

Another vote for driving, especially since you have two young kids and a big stroller. We've done it both ways with small kids, and we prefer driving, hands down.

    just back, etiquette questions

So if there was an elderly person on the bus who would have a hard time balancing, and you noticed them standing...and you yourself were physically able to stand....you would not offer them your seat? You would tell them to get off and wait for the next bus? Wow. I don't even know what to say...

    just back, etiquette questions

Well, I guess you can't *expect* it seeing how self centered so many people in our society are these days, but you can sure hope that if you are truly in need of a seat on a bus, there will be someone in your vicinity who will offer you one.

    just back, etiquette questions

I am not talking about picking out one specific person and getting mad that they are not offering a seat to someone holding a small child. I agree that you can't tell by looking if someone is able to stand on the bus. However, chances are very high (almost certain) that if I am standing with a...

    just back, etiquette questions

I totally agree with you on that, and honestly I think most women these days would also agree with you. Even though I consider myself old fashioned in many ways and like it when men do polite things for me, never once have I expected or thought a man should offer me his seat while I am standing...

    just back, etiquette questions

Just an observation...from reading both threads on this topic, some of the posters (not all of them...I know some of them are married with kids) who are against doing "old fashioned" polite things for women appear to be males who are single. Hmm....maybe there is a reason they are single...

    just back, etiquette questions

I really do not think that most women these days "expect" a man to offer her a seat (or open a car door for her, pull her chair out, etc....), or really notice or get upset when they don't do these things. But when a man DOES do these things, I think that most women think it was a polite thing...

    June Trip:

I totally agree. Ideally I would love no crowds and no heat, but if I had to choose between the two, I would choose crowds. There are ways to deal with crowds if you know what you are doing...but there is NO way to deal with that kind of heat!

    just back, etiquette questions

Your post makes no sense. First, people are suggesting giving up seats on buses for children who are not tall enough to safely hold on. It is for safety...not just because they are a kid. I would NEVER allow my child to sit in most places if there were adults who were standing (for example...

    June Trip:

December is great as long as you go during the first two weeks...once schools let out for Christmas break, it gets crazy. Early December has become a more popular time in recent years so the crowd levels are not as low as they used to be during that time, but it is still a good time to go...

    June Trip:

I totally agree. We just got back last week, and NEVER again will we go in the summer. I know there are many who don't mind the heat and actually prefer the summer, but not my family! We had fun, but the quality of the trip was nowhere near what we have had in non summer months. We can...

    Late Check-out

I guess we have been lucky...we've requested late check out on nearly every single trip, and have never been turned down. In fact, most times they give us more time than we asked for. Just last week at the Wilderness Lodge we requested one extra hour (which would have been noon) and they told...

    Cruise Help

We just did a four night, and I don't think I would do a three night. Even with the four night, we felt that did not get to see/do nearly enough on the ship!

OK ladies, what would you do?

I would decline, unless I was holding a very young child. I would also think he was a very nice gentlemen, just like my husband is. One of the many reasons I fell in love with my husband is that he is a perfect gentlemen...he will always offer his seat to anyone, hold doors open for everyone...

    just back, etiquette questions

Trying to steal spots for parades and shows is a totally different topic than giving up your seat on a bus for someone who needs it. I don't think anyone on here would say I was in the wrong, unless they are the type of people that try to steal parade spots at the last minute.

    just back, etiquette questions

It drives me crazy. It happens on the cruise line as well...we just got off the Wonder last week and had two instances of people trying to take our spots, and being very rude about it. For the Sail Away party, we went up to deck 10 right after the lifeboat drill so that we could watch the...

    Restaurants with tables for 10

You might already know this, but there is a group dining number you can call for groups of 8 or more. At least there used to be...I have no idea if they still have it since they've started the online reservation system. But we used it a few years ago when we had a large group. (407) 939-5665.
