On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I have 2 adult kids working Disney corporate and neither have heard of anyone layed off recently. They both feel that there only a very select few that have any idea what the plans are and they are changing their minds by the hour. The uncertainty is stifling, both are not resigning their...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

Someone once posted here that US was heading towards at LAtin America economy where 10% have means and the rest are just poor ending the middle class. This pandemic may just be that nail in the coffin. The housing market keeps going because poor people were never going to be able to buy a house...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

So what is the timeline for layoff/restructuring? One thing I learned about Disney with this pandemic is they are not a very nimble company.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

IMHO the total hospitalization rate is more important then ICU beds. In march if you needed more that 5 liters of oxgen you were vented and admitted into ICU. Now that has changed and more pts are admitted to the floor on high flow oxgen which creates a whole other debate.

I completely agree! But what is the infection rate in the elderly right now? I had thought that was going down and rate was increasing in the younger population. I see nothing to celebrate for the next two years. I find it hearbreaking as a nation we can't even agree on masks and other...

Perfect explanation however two things have changed. The treatment now has much better outcomes and the average age is lower both I believe will "lower" the death rate.

WDW Still Struggling with Safety and Unions

Disney has been reducing equity for years, this is a gift for them.

    Should WDW open?

They have already recalled their cast and I think it would be hell with the union to turn around now. and then there is the DVC problem. They have to let owners have the chance to use their points or it will be a complete meltdown. I think they will open but park hours and days they are...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

I really think this is just really bad management from the top down. Trust me I get it that Covid has created a whole new world but this is major company, whith major resources and that they haven't been really actively planning from day one when/how to open is concerning. It just seems so...

I don't think having restooms open in the restauarnt is a high expectation, especially during a pandemic.

So my two daughters went to Citywalk. At first they thought it was going to work, everyone good with social distancing. More CMs then guests. Everyone wore masks. But then things broke down. They ate at Margeritaville and then is when it downhill. They were given used menus, the service...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

It's not just the disinfecting. If you hand sanitize going in and out of the gondala that would cover much of it. The problem is when someone coughs, unmasked the virus is aroseolized for an hour. It may be less with all the air movement. And if it is aerosolized only a n95 can be helpful and...

So not sure if this fits here or not. My DD had to fly home today from Orlando for a medical procedure. Frontier has cut flights from 2Xs a day to once a week. She texted me the plane is COMPLETELY FULL. So much for all the social isolation. My point is if the airlines don't give a dam why...
