EPCOT~ a cool place in the afternoon heat?

While I would never minimize the value of a nice relaxing, cooling swim back at the Hotel, there are many nice cool diversions in Epcot as others have posted. When our daughters were young, we often went back for a short swim and rest. Then it was back to close out the park! We love the parks at...

The Wand coming down, are Disney doing the right thing?

It needs to go. It didn't disgust me, but I prefer Spaceship Earth without. I too thought it was intended for a shorter lifespan than it was given.

Do you have any souvenir buying traditions?

We always pick up Disney Christmas ornaments:xmas:, our daughters buy chocolates from Germany in Epcot, Geir cologne and Laila perfume from Norway, buckets of popcorn:ROFLOL:, always some item from Pirates and stuffed animals. And of course whatever new book we don't already possess:rolleyes...

    Does your spouse love Disney?

Yes, I am blessed to have a wife and daughters who definitely "get it" when it comes to WDW and all things Disney. Wife and I had been to WDW when we were kids with our respective families. When we met we enjoyed Disney movies etc. and discovered our mutual love for WDW. Then we Honeymooned...

    MGM Hotter than the rest??

Having just returned from our visit to WDW, I offer the the following opinions.AK is very hot for the already mentioned reasons. Plants, berm, ext queues etc.MGM feels very hot. Lots of pavement, not so much shade, ext queues.LMA stunt show is hottt if sun is bearing down on you.Epcot is hot on...

Updates on El Rio Del Tiempo

I think that Rio Del Tiempo has a "Small World" feel to it in the Fiesta section and a "If You Had Wings" feel to it in the Tropical Resorts section. But we love this ride. I would love to see some improvements to update the visuals and I'd love to see an expanded more realistic Mexico City...

What did you think of Turtle Talk with Crush?

I didn't know what to expect when we saw it for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at the technology. Not to mention it's really fun. I agree it merits further visits due to it's format. I really love Crush, dude (or dudette).

DON'T USE DISNEY TRANSIT!!....bring your own car?...

No question, use the Disney Transportation. We have found them to be reliable and fairly prompt. As has been mentioned, there is real value in giving your body and mind a break. Why have the strain of driving at the end of a long day? Besides I love the full immersion into the magic. I don't...

    Kurmedgeons

I think you have a point there. As Benjamin Franklin says in The American Adventure, "the Golden Age never was the current age". We do look back with nostalgia warming up the memories. But I know we have lost some classics, which I miss. But overall, I still love the place (WDW) and look forward...

    Things you don't get

I totally understand the money issue as a motive. When I was young my parents took us to WDW almost annually, but could not afford to stay on site.(especially since that meant CR,POLY or Golf Resort back then) However, since my familyand I have been able to stay on site, it seems so magical...

    Things you don't get

Last time we ate at Don Pablos I didn't see a quaint boat ride or pyramid. Or a perpetual dusk plaza. And the food has always been pretty good at San Angel Inn. However, I will admit we are sad to have found out that the Queso Fundido appetizer was off the menu. That kind of kills it for us as...

    OUR BEST ITINERARY....Suggestions to improve?

Your plan is looking good. I agree that the in park playgrounds offer a chance to have some unstructured fun. I remember our daughters really enjoying themselves in the Honey I Shrunk..... playground. Come to think of it my wife and I also had fun in there! We also have plans for Brown Derby...

    CoP alive and well

COP has been a family favorite for years. I agree that the final scene needs an update to show what is current or right around the corner. And the rest of the AAs could benefit from updates. But, this attraction is so unique. It has a theatre setting, AA's, nostalgia, history and the potential...
