Missing the last raft from Tom Sawyer Island...

Another person also died in the river at DL in 1984 when he and his friend, heavily intoxicated, stole a maintenance boat and struck a rock alongside the island. One of them was knocked overboard and drowned. Regarding the two boys that were hiding on the island after it closed, that story...

Snack credits Disney Dining Plan at Food & Wine

You bet you they can! I usually use most of my DP snacks credits for F & W stuff. I've heard that some people have had issues where some CMs claimed they did not know how to do it or flat out said no they could not do it - but it has not been an issue for me yet.

    Refillable mugs Halloween resorts

Yeah, it keeps getting earlier and earlier into August and is beyond ridiculous being that early and so far into summer. Last year the parties didn't start until the 25th, and I felt like that was waaaay too early. The 17th is just crazy. I don't want to see pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns and autumn...

    Seasonal Attraction Overlays

I agree. This is probably my favorite overlay. It just works tremendously well, so much so that it actually feels like the attraction could have even been designed as an xmas experience originally.

    Seasonal Attraction Overlays

I know I am in the minority when I say this, but the NBC overlay of The Haunted Mansion at DL has worn out it's welcome for me. For one, I feel like it's definitely more of a christmas movie and therefore I don't really want to see xmas decorations in September. Secondly, the regular version of...

    Slinky dog

That is very possible. I have read on here and also have seen/heard on many vlogger videos that the wait times for Slinky are definitely bloated and not as long as the wait times being posted by Disney on the app. But they do it for a lot of other attractions as well. At DW and at DL as well...

    Slinky dog

I have read quite a few times now that the wait times are a lot less, by 15-25 minutes, than what is posted on the app. So I would say if you see it with a 45-min wait, go for it! Also worth noting, from all the reviews I have read and videos I have seen, it's a much better experience at dusk...

    Favorite animatronic?

I think Stitch might be one of the more underrated ones just because it was (is? Is that thing ever going to get an official closure?) inside such an overly despised attraction. Speaking of that theater, I think the alien from Alien Encounter was also a great AA that may have been underrated for...

    MK Park Hours

Just noticed Disney extended park hours for the MK for the 1st 3 Saturdays in September. They close the MK at 11p now on the 8th and 22nd, at 10p on the 15th and to 12am on the 29th of Sep. Those were the only extensions I noticed though. Also just noticed the Studios got extended to 9p on...

Please, Disney Gods let this crowd calendar be right. lol

Which upcoming Walt Disney World attraction are you most excited for?

I actually really liked the original version ('82-'96) of the attraction. I was always a huge fan of dinosaurs as a kid so the first time I went on it in '89 I was blown away. It was like DL's primeval world diorama but better. But I would say my love for the attraction dwindled somewhat after...

News Liberty Square Riverboat closing for long refurb

I was just looking at DW's site and it still lists the Liberty Belle as being closed thru Aug 30th. Was the more recent refurb extension only from Jul 19th to Aug 30th, and it is indeed re-opening Aug 31st? Or is Disney just slow to updating the site? Technically fall isn't until Sep 21st, but...

    Favorite animatronic?

Yes to both of those! I think for myself, the single biggest shame out of losing Horizons and World of Motion was the loss of all of those remarkable audio-animatronics. The messy kitchen was great! I always remember the little kitten licking up the spilled milk on the floor was a nice little...

    Favorite animatronic?

You just reminded me of one of my old favs - Jules Verne floating with his chicken and dog in Horizons!

Uber from resort to Magic Kingdom

I agree. I did this last year so I could be at the AK gates by 6:30am for rope drop at EMH. The DW buses did not even start running until 7am, so I wouldn't have even arrived until 30 min before rope drop. It paid off because I was 4th in line and got on FoP before 8am and with 0 wait (was first...

    2019 Dining Plan costs

Everybody is different in terms of what they eat and drink, so research the menus and add up what you eat in a day. I always say, big eaters/drinkers definitely benefit and save with the DP. For me personally, the regular DP saves me money. Even more so now that they added an alcoholic drink...

    Why is October so busy?

Don't ever move to Southern California/LA then lol We get into the 80s and 90s year-round and from Apr-Nov you can get 95+ degree days at any time. Just curious, where did you move to when you left Florida?

    Favorite park "nap zones"

I knocked the **** out last year on a bus ride from DS to the Poly after a very long day/night. I literally sat down and knocked out the second I closed my eyes. Felt like I was asleep for 5 seconds even though it was a good 20-25 min ride. It felt good. lol
