For what it's worth, showed my AP at both Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom tool booth yesterday and was simply waved through.

I think a subscription to their website is worth it, and I use it before heading up to get a general idea of the crowd levels for that day. But I would be careful on putting 100% faith in their numbers, as they can be off quite a bit on occasion. I've also seen the predicted crowd levels...

You can use all the bus stops, at parks or at resorts, no ID is checked that I've ever seen in all my visits.

Like others have said, $500 is the break even number if you buy the card at $100. And yes, 18% tip is auto added to your bill. But, be careful not to fall into the incorrect math that if you save 20% but add tip of 18%, you only really save 2%. That math assumes you tip 0% to begin with...
