Good points -- I always had the impression from the start that while WDW was a premium destination, it was never an extravagant one. It would be interesting to compare room rates from 1974 (adjusted for CPI) to today's rates. Something tells me they would be a lot more reasonable.

I think the two different colors for Innoventions West and Innoventions East were simply someone's idea of a way to differentiate the two. They painted the entrances the bright colors to give them some identity and excitement and did so with the breezeways as well. I'm sure it helps guests...

And then you have the places (especially here in CA) that have three receptacles to sort your lunch items into and nothing seems to match what you are trying to toss. I think that sometimes people simply give up.

I can't speak for everyone but imagine if people were instead saying "Bring back the Haunted Mansion" or "Bring back Splash Mountain"... ..or any of the other popular attractions that are considered iconic. It's understandable that people feel nostalgic for attractions they had been visiting...
