    Are you buying Genie+

Depends on what wait times are and what LL individual ride passes cost and what rides ends up being included in each tier. And it depends on reports of how well G+ works. But I anticipate G+ and/or LL in our future, at least on some days. But we only go once every few years, so budgeting extra...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Will there be some tier 1 rides included? Just maybe included when their lines are sufficiently low?

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I mean, for a family of 4 that's $60-80 more a day just for the MaxPass-type part. I'm sure that's hard for some people to swallow. Should make those who prefer spontaneous park touring more happy. Might mean an increase in walking for someone like me who planned FPs to eliminate...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

No mention (yet) of capping standby lines.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

I mean, no one is gonna book a WDW trip to see golden statues.

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

HAHAHAHHA. Yes, I did. Thank you for the correction. I will go fix it.

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

I think most people in customer service roles are underpaid and management is largely overpaid, but what do I know.

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

I once witnessed a family blow the eff up in line for Pooh and Tigger M&G at the end of the night because the characters were actually interacting with guests and "it was taking too long, which meant they wouldn't be able to run across the park and get in line for a big ride before Disney cuts...

I was watching guest use the fast pass line at Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway

Word is that it will be launched soon. As to why they haven't launched it already, my uneducated guess would be that there is a labor shortage, and they want people to be waiting in lines until they are prepared to open more venues to handle more crowds.

    Guess the 50 Golden Statues

I also would've preferred Genie to Abu. There is going to be some sort of game to go with this right? There is an interactive element? Perhaps prizes for completing the scavenger hunt? (Or is that too much free magic?)

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

MayoClinic has forecasts for the states, but they are limited to a 14-day outlook, I believe. There should be a toggle switch if you scroll through the article where you can "turn on" the forecast. https://www.mayoclinic.org/coronavirus-covid-19/map/florida

I was watching guest use the fast pass line at Mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway

Because they want to launch an entirely new system that will also generate more revenue.

    What’s the best themed coaster?

It makes me laugh that every coaster thread seems to rehash the argument of Disney vs. Universal and intensity of various coasters. I picked BTMRR, but I agree that EE is nearly equal and has a better queue. BTMRR in DLR is still, of course, better than the one in MK.

A First Timer’s Review of California Adventure

I enjoyed your review. Thanks for writing it. (Also, your note about Cars being your favorite childhood Disney film made me realize it came out 15 years ago, and that I am older than I want to believe I am.) Cars always felt, to me, like a bit of a love letter to the American West and the...

Need advise on two Disneyland resorts

GC is stunning and attached to DCA. There is some appeal to being in the park, more or less. I haven't stayed at DLH except once as a kid, and never at PP. We stay offsite. There is no real bubble like WDW, and the minimal perks are not worth the price. There are many decent hotels in walking...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

And this is part of the whole problem with covid since the beginning. There are so many entities giving out information and "advise." It confuses people, and then people lose confidence in the media and any of the sources, except those that tell them what they want to hear.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

This is why I assumed the "leaked" list is wrong. Also it lacks Snow White, which is undoubtedly the most important Disney film from a historical perspective and also spawned a beloved ride at WDW. (Or at least one that has maintained popularity and long wait times.) Since Orange Bird is one...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

It's gonna really mess things up when they use all 7 dwarves. ;) Just kidding, everyone knows Grumpy and Dopey are the only ones that sell merch. I do wish it was 50 statues rather than 50 characters, but it does make their choices that much more interesting.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

I like that for the 50 statues they are going with a lot of the sidekick characters rather than "the princess" or "the happy couple."
