Stroller to rent to bring what to do?

I agree with everyone who says to bring a stroller and gate check it. You'll be glad to have it in the airports. But--get a stroller bag. The airplane holds are dirty. I wrap my son's booster in two garbage bags and then a gate check bag and the outer bag always comes out filthy. :depressed:

The ins and outs of AOA

I really love AoA. I prefer the Nemo building because it's convenient to Animation Hall; be prepared for some long walks if you're staying in another section. But make it a point to walk all around AoA in the daytime and nighttime...everything is beautifully lit at night. I like the food at...

What do you miss from the old Disney parks???

This thread is bringing back some very beautiful memories. I miss the old Chef Mickey's at the Disney Village, when it wasn't a big circus. And I will always long for the Fiesta Fun Center, which was the best way to spend arrival day when I was a kid. At least I still have the electrical...

Dining Plan Help - Really Need Advice :)

Even if on paper it looked like I could save a few bucks, I wouldn't do the dining plan with my son (he's 5). He's picky and doesn't want to eat one day, and the next day he's ravenous for nothing but hamburgers or something. The plan seems like a good idea if you're doing a lot of character...

    Multiple bands/multiple resorts

You can use just one and ditch the other. In my experience the front desk will have to see the one you'll be using to open your room door, especially at the second resort, to force it to work. But everything else is interchangeable.

Visiting in July / August - what does 'busy' look like?

My experience with August vs May over the past couple years is that August feels more crowded in every way. If there were 3 people ahead of you in line for a Mickey bar in May, there will be 9 people ahead of you in August. Lines for QS, lines for bathrooms, lines everywhere. But it's all...

Traveling With 3 and 5 Year Old - Need First Day Advice

If MK was open any later than 9 I'd say just go for it, but that's a very short window of park time. Arriving at BLT at 6 is possible, but that's the best-case scenario. I think you're right, though, that the excitement and adrenaline rush will keep the kids up. I would maybe make an ADR...

    Split Stay

Yes. Have the room requests noted on your reservation (if you haven't already). CBR will know what room you've been given even before your room is ready, and they'll be able to tell you if you got your requests; if you didn't, they might be able to move things around while you're gone for the...

    Split Stay

I did 3 split stays last year. I'll probably never stop with them, because I want to experience different resorts but I love to end up at my favorite, Y&BC. I always have my young son with me, and the most recent trip involved 5 adults and 3 kids under age 6, and it was still fine. Definitely...

    Stroller for 4yr old

A regular City Mini is 16 lbs, the GT is 21 lbs. I've rented the GT 3 times in WDW, and lifted it in and out of the rental SUV constantly with no problems. Feels like the weight of a regular Mini to me, despite the extra 5 lbs. The seat is slightly wider and deeper than a regular Mini. It...

    Stroller for 4yr old

If the City Mini GT is only a few bucks more (and it usually is), that's the one I choose. It has better wheels and maneuvers very well, and the seat is roomier, which is nice for a bigger kid. It's heavier than the regular GT but I've never had a problem lifting it into the car or anything.

What Disney merch do you want that doesn't currently exist?

So many things. Figurines. In the 80s and 90s every gift shop sold a huge line of glass figurines (I had Snow White and the 7D...what did I do with them?). I want better and more ornaments and Christmas decor. But, more than anything, I want a home fragrance line. I want candles that smell...

    Mosquitos

Wouldn't hurt! I checked multiple gift shops and they didn't sell it. I would have forked over a lot of money for a can of Off last week. This thread is making me remember that we saw lovebugs everywhere the first few days, from 4/30 to 5/4, I guess. After that I didn't see any lovebugs, and...

    Mosquitos

Got bitten up by mosquitoes like crazy a couple weeks ago at Beach Club and in Epcot. Many, many mosquitoes that week, the small ones with black and white stripes. I'd felt comfortable not bringing bug repellent after two mosquito-free trips last year, but I'll never travel to WDW without it...

My TIW Card / Can someone else pay?

I didn't get scrutinized with the TIW card at all last week. Actually, 3 servers informed me that the "only-the-cardholder-can-pay" rule had recently been lifted. I have no clue if that's 100% true but they told me this without my ever asking. I didn't test it anywhere because I was using my...

Did I Really Just See That.....in Disney World?????

THIS guy, sleeping the sleep of the dead at the foot of the Monsters, Inc. playground at Epcot last week. I hope I've attached his picture correctly, because I love this guy. Someone (not my family, because we were laughing too hard) alerted a CM but he woke up and scurried off right before...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

Took a few rides on the monorails last week, and I didn't see anything glaringly gross in my cars. What does puzzle me is the garbage that accumulates on the window side at the Contemporary station. Napkins, papers, straw wrappers, even a soda can. How does it get there, and how hard is it...

    Weather right now???

I was there 4/30 until yesterday. It misted lightly one morning, but not a drop of rain otherwise, even though the forecast said anywhere from 20-40% chance of rain most days. It started to creep into the nineties this past Wednesday.

New high-tech guest laundry machines rolled out at Walt Disney World Resort hotels

I've been the chief laundry-doer for my family of 8 this past week and the new system is pretty cool. I'd rather use my credit card than mess around with change and machines that keep spitting my dollar bills back out at me. The machine availability feature is cool but not 100% accurate--at...

    Ohana Dinner Children's selection?

I was there this past Friday with kids ages 5, 3, and 1. The kids were offered mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, burgers, and hot dogs (all with fries) and were also welcome to eat from the family-style platters if anything caught their eyes. My 1-year-old niece was fairly miserable with a...
