What job would you apply for if you wanted to work for Disney?

I work between 8 and 10. Some days longer, some days shorter. It all depends on business needs.

    Leaving your profession for Disney

I was a firefighter/fire inspector for over 20 years. I drove the big trucks, and took that ability to drive the Disney buses. My wife stayed in retail and works in the Magic Kingdom. We both took a pay cut to work at the world, but we downsized and adjusted to make it work. We do not regret our...

    New Gillig Buses

We have very strict operating procedures such as full and complete stops at gates (whether open or closed) and signs, ECV loading and unloading, etc. Some drivers choose not to follow them, but I do. You're exactly right, not only do I not need it on my conscious, I don't need it on my record card.

    New Gillig Buses

Nope. We retired them. Oldest bus is a NovaBus #4815 (it's a 2000) and we are now into the 5200 series Gillig.

    New Gillig Buses

We prefer that you do not back down the ramp. That being said, I let people go whichever way is easier for them and I am always there to assist.

Sometimes I wonder about Casting. Your best bet would be to contact the person that interviewed you by phone. Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle and they have been very busy with hiring for Disney Springs. Good luck, and keep me informed.

    Some questions about employment!

They'll train you to get your CDL. You just need to take a test to get your permit.

    Some questions about employment!

We are currently agressively hiring bus drivers. You sit down all day in the air conditioning. That's my role and I love it.

Was there a Bus related Incident at Disney

As a current WDW bus driver, I will tell you how Disney operates. The speed limit in the load zones and parking lots is 5 MPH. Stop signs mean a full and complete stop. Resort gates (whether they are open or closed), require a full and complete stop. Just 1 MPH over the posted speed limit can...

    CDL license for bus driver

When I went thru three years ago, I paid for my permit, but Disney reimbursed us for our license. It's $75.

    Bus driver inquiries

It is slow. But took about 16 months.

    Too crowded!!

Giant strollers on the buses and people that don't want to follow the rules. The back door is not a stroller storage area. When the driver tells you that you must hold on to it, don't give them a bunch if crap. It's the law. I had a guest turn me in for doing my job just because they didn't want...

    Bus driver inquiries

I love it. The pay could be better but other than that it's a great job. I finally got some seniority so my time working overnights is over.

    Resort-to-Resort late evening?

We generally stop bringing guests back to the park once it closes. Usually only guests that have their car parked at that park will be allowed to return to a closed park (we are trying to close the park and get as many guests home as quickly as possible). My recommendation would be to take the...

Union and Disney reach a new contract

There's not many salary CMs that hold CDL Class A with passenger endorsement. And many charters don't know how to run the routes at places like SSR and OKW. They would also need 40 foot buses to maneuver through some of the resorts (that's why the articulated buses and charters only go to...

Union and Disney reach a new contract

I know they are. The guest buses are driven by Teamsters. Hard to get to the park or a dining reservation with 325 parked Disney buses.

Union and Disney reach a new contract

CPs can't drive buses. No transportation is a huge impact.
