New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

At least Peter Pan has the excuse of having been built in 1971. But Navi, Frozen, RoTR, FOP... these are 21st century attractions, which some Industrial Engineer, should have shot up a hand, and said, "This capacity is grossly insufficient for the attendance targets we want to hit by promoting...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

And if people have a hard time believing it, they can work at it from the other way. If a park has 35,000 daily guests, 8% equates to 2,800 people. Assuming they aren't alone and using a typical average party size of 3, you get 8,400 people as an estimate of people benefiting from a DAS pass...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

How about this. We know attendance is an issue. What if it isn't just about prices, but people who refuse to buy Genie+ / ILL are getting sick and tired of slow moving standby lines, especially when the LL backs up and the merge CM starts holding the standby for several minutes, or letting one...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

But that's not what the webpage says. There is no mention of non-developmental disabilities. They could have saved themselves a lot of grief and other guests a lot of anxiety by referring to some procedure for people with other types of disabilities. The failure to do that, leaves what else...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

So logistics... if we take this at face value, seems like a natural part of Disney's expectations is to direct more people to wheelchairs / scooters and use the regular line. And they also expect that people (some of them who may be using these scooters and wheelchairs) to quickly, and easily...

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

He actually does really well! We went to DLP in December for 4 days and 4 days in Paris. We walked like 70 miles, and he kept up! But at that age, you never know when things can change in an instant.

And there are non-locals for who it's mostly an activity itch too. My Dad has a Main Entrance pass. We go to WDW because its the activity closest to his house. But we also go to Universal (and stay on property! Which means we're paying for lodging we don't really need), we go to antique...

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

Japan still can have some interesting stuff. We went December 2018, and while we were disappointed things weren't how we we were led to believe, we didn't come home empty handed. My Dad bought the entire set of plush keychain badges which were the Country Bear Jamboree bears dressed in their...

I wanted the paint / finish on the base, in particular, to not look so awful.

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

This is so true. We've bought so much stuff that was designed by Kevin Kidney & Jody Daily at Disneyland and through the Catalog, so it was exciting to hear that they had some new WDW product. The Country Bear figures and Big Al mug were decent, but then there was stuff like the Peter Pan boat...

I believe the correct terminology would be: Magic Kingdom (Taylor's Version).

Rumor Something happening at the Studios?

Since the rumor is something quick and easy, my first guess would just be exactly what The Magic of Disney Animation was (minus the animators). They could throw together an exhibit about the Simpsons, something to put in the theater, and a meet & greet.

From the other thread that may be relevant to this one.

They need a 2nd fireworks viewing location people *want* to be, instead of in front of the Castle. Casita Madrigal in the theorized Beyond Big Thunder expansion could provide a decent platform for this. But knowing Disney, they will probably have to empty the whole area during fireworks.

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

Undoubtedly, Disney views North America as a mature market, and has for decades. Disney thought DLR was mature. Until Ouimet / Emmer and everyone after, have been able to grow it. Universal showed that when you build quality projects that meet expectations, you can grow attendance on both...

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

This is exactly WHY they need to do it; even though it won't look good on a spreadsheet. The price one must pay when one messes up their operations this badly. The labor doesn't exist in Orlando to scale up with what they would need to actually serve the number of people who want to be at WDW...

And most of this is effectively inaccessible to guests who don't pay up for Genie+ / ILL. How satisfying is one of these attractions if your posted 60 minute wait turned into a 130 minute wait because something happened, and the ILL lane got backed up so they had no choice but hold standby...

    Disney Transportation Card Sets

I am bumping this thread up because friend is here now. Asked about cards and was given some including 2 Skyliner cards. One CM (coordinator) indicated these came out in October 2023 but most Transportation CMs don’t know anything. These new cards are unnumbered. So does anyone know anything...
