No more Fois Gras served in WDW restaurants..

I get asked this question a lot. The first reason is that I didn't give up meat because I didn't like the taste. I gave it up for ethical reasons. I couldn't rationalize loving animals so much and yet eating them. Doesn't mean I don't still stare longingly at salami, lol. The second reason...

No more Fois Gras served in WDW restaurants..

Oh, this is a touchy subject. I'm happy to jump right in ;) As a vegetarian, I'm pleased with this decision. BUT I see all slaughter of animals as torture and so although this is a step in the right direction, I think it's a band aid on a bullet hole in terms of how much it actually helps...

PDFs of 'Be Our Guest' Menus

I'm probably in the minority, but nothing appeals to me on this menu at all. What a boring vegetarian dish. Prices aren't bad though and $75 for a bottle of Veuve Clicquot?? That's almost cheaper than at the liquor store in Canada!! :D

    Splitting Epcot in half

Oh my Gosh, I couldn't disagree more! :) My husband and I plan to spend at least 4-5 full days in Epcot on our Disneymoon. We love just slowly wandering around World Showcase and exploring the countries. Future World isn't what it used to be, but still... Epcot is still - and I think will...

Magic Kingdom No Longer to be Dry

For some reason, hearing / reading the word 'family' used as an adjective confuses me. I've never sure if it applies to me or not, and I always think, "I don't know if I'd want to go to a place described as a 'family park.'" It sounds vaguely like a bit of a drag. I prefer "happiest place on...

Magic Kingdom No Longer to be Dry

Although I have no interest in beer ... ... my husband is Welsh (as in, actually born there and lived there for the first 18 years of his life) and he loves good beer. Now that he lives in Canada, he mourns the lack of good, authentic pubs. He won't support the Canadian beer industry...

    Mission: Space

It just makes me feel claustrophobic and panicky, more than anything. My husband LOVES it but I just don't ... it's like the second I get in there, I want out.

Magic Kingdom No Longer to be Dry

ha ha. Agreed. Although I'm sure they knew there would be a little backlash, I think TDO see the bottom line - money. I personally wouldn't eat at BoG because the food doesn't look very appealing, but I'm sure it will be a popular one for families. I just hope their next announcement concerns...

Maybe they honestly don't think it IS a big deal.

    I will never go back!

Oh my Gosh, your boys are ridiculously cute. That's rough about your FiL - so hard when family dynamics come into play. On your next trip, hopefully it will just be your immediate family and then you can do it up right :)

Do you Gain or Lose Weight When You Visit WDW?

So true. I'm Canadian so it's not really the same thing, but as a CM, I gained so much weight and I honestly couldn't figure out how. It was like there were calories in the water.

Do you Gain or Lose Weight When You Visit WDW?

Hmmm. I think I just maintained my weight on our last trip but we stayed off property and I ate pretty healthily -- with a few treats thrown in. Didn't really snack at all. On our upcoming Disneymoon, I fully expect to gain. Despite all the walking. I've found that exercise really doesn't...

Magic Kingdom No Longer to be Dry

This is my favourite post ever. The phrase "family values" is so misused that it's been rendered meaningless. And it implies that those who don't agree with the person using the phrase are somehow morally corrupt. Regardless, I don't have a problem with this - but yes, I can see why others do...

Which Park Would You Do Twice?

I guess it's all down to personal preference. I agree that AK has a lot to offer -- my favourite part of it is actually just looking because it's SO visually stunning. The details are incredible. I also love the shopping there, and the drinks! My preference on a 5 day trip would be just a half...

Oh my gosh, stop it you!!!

That is so sad about your FiL ruining your trip :( When I was around 19, I invited a friend along on a trip my parents and I were taking to the UK, and she was miserable the entire time. Ungrateful, didn't want to be there, etc, and my parents paid for the majority of her expenses (hotels, food...
