    Reservation expansion

It was starting to become an issue pre-Covid when they decided to quit staffing the parks adequately. I remember there being a lot of stories from January 2018 or 2019, can’t remember for sure, about a lot of frustrated guests. It’s just worse now with the extreme penny pinching and labor issues.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

You can’t see the castle from the MK entrance plaza, so reveals are important and add really cool moments that draw you in. That said, Tron placement is awful. Both can be true at once.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Probably the same jealousy I have as someone who lives one state away from Florida. They got DL, and I got the swamps. 😂

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Wonder what it would have cost them to remove or revamp the speedway, place Tron better (if possible), and extend the Peoplemover to run through it? These days, probably another 200 mil.

What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

Liberty Tree is solid, as is Sleepy Hollow. To be fair, I think the underutilized dining space in MK makes it seem worse than it is for me. I agree with you on Mythos. Was a one and done for us.

What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

MK most def underperforms on food. Between the places that just aren’t very good and the places that seem perpetually closed when we’ve been there, it’s dead last for me when ranking the 4 parks, even though it should be a solid 2nd place behind Epcot. Never had a bad meal at Confisco, but they...

What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

Different tastes and opinions make the world go round, but to me it would take a couple of IOA’s, plus a couple of dark rides, live shows, and several decent places to eat besides Confisco’s to equal MK.

What will Disney announce for Disney World at the 2022 D23 expo?

I love me some IOA, but that’s a bold statement.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Without fewer people in the parks or adding a ton of additional capacity, I believe they’re trying to create a truly impossible system. People, including myself, continually underestimate the amount of money folks are willing to throw at WDW. If they made it $100 a day, it would probably still...

What Happens to WDW / Disney Parks during a massive correction / recession?

It is. I’m between PCB and Destin as we speak. Say what you want about the “redneck riviera”, but it’s hard to find prettier beaches and better seafood. To stay on the recession topic, most restaurants are showing market price or no prices at all for their online menus and more than I’ve ever...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

A little birdie told me the name of the D+ Harmonius show. It’s gonna be called Epcot: It Really Ain’t That Bad.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

We went during the week in October. Granted, it was almost 6 years ago, but the crowds weren’t bad. We made sure to go during a time there were no big conventions at the Anaheim center. YMMV these days. Haven’t kept up with DL crowds in some time.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

We have, but not since 2016. We had a blast, and back then it was super easy. My wife still preferred WDW, but the shine came off for me on my first trip to DLR. Not setting foot on a bus the entire time became the main reason I preferred DL and now Uni. That, and Cars Land. RSR is worth the...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

We went to WDW exclusively for years and years. Everyone we knew would call us for help planning trips. We were those people. The last 2 years, we’ve been going to Uni instead, and have had great stays. It’s just easier. Do I miss Disney? Sure. Will we go back? Possibly to California. The...

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

He’s a cheap crap peddler. All he understands is units and cost. Don’t get me wrong, if your goal is to make bank off merch, you need a guy like that. If you’re on a road trip with him, you might occasionally let him pick where to stop and eat, but you don’t give him the keys to the car.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

We got lucky and went the week the parks reopened in July 2020. Have had no desire to go back recently since Genie came along, but we have been to Uni 4 times. If Disney gets any more of my money, they’ll get it in California. The park in Florida is gorked.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Any new attraction they build of any ticket level shouldn’t have less capacity than a comparable ride built 40-50 years ago. Any pitch with less capacity should be DOA if they’re going to continue to rip and replace instead of expand.

News Disney's own survey is a list of Walt Disney World's 50-anniversary shortcomings

You make a good point. The things I mentioned were 3rd tier offerings. It’s just that tier 1 and 2 (new shows and merch) sucked.

Pirates of the Caribbean vs Splash Mountain

Totally agree. I still consider Splash the high water mark of post-Epcot WDI.
