Why do so many kiosks not open until October 1? I mean, I know that's when the 50th starts, but I figured all kiosks would run for the duration of F&W. :confused:

I'm trying to prepare myself for the potential hiccups that always accompany the first event.

Jan/Feb of 2018 and 2019 and then Jan of 2020.

There have been times HEA ran at the same time as the start of the after hours event (event started at 8 or 9 and HEA was scheduled to start at the same time). I'm hoping that at least won't happen this time.

Best strategy for DAH (imo, of course) is to ride longer and/or less reliable rides from 7-9 and save the shorter and more popular rides for the event hours. So People Mover, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Small World, etc... are all very good rides to get out of the way (and not take a chance getting...

To my recollection, the only park that ever had a 30 minute buffer between park close and DAH start was AK.

We've been to after hours events (MK and DHS), Early Morning Magic (MK - when they had the AH-MAZ-ING breakfast at PVH, never tried it after they moved the breakfast to Cosmic Ray's), and Christmas parties. After hours was BY FAR the best event of all of them. We will definitely be getting...

Wait, does this mean they won't decorate MK until October?

With people not needing to wear masks to get into the park, I do wonder how many people will forget (or "forget") to even bring one?

I wonder if the new policy might change people's behavior wrt getting in long lines for rides? If it's super hot, I'd probably have to think pretty hard about getting in a 45-minute line if it means putting a mask on. It'll be interesting to see if wait times change at all.

Any thoughts on when these could start? I know they used to start in mid/late August, do you think they'll push that back to September now? I mean, Food & Wine is starting even earlier this year, so maybe they'll do the same with whatever these parties end up being. 🤷‍♀️

I thought about that. But who wants to go to Disney and get a vaccine that won't even be effective until well after you leave? On top of that, who wants to risk spending 24-48 hours being sick in your room with side effects? So probably not vaccinations, unless it's more geared to locals.

My dh called it a bubbler, but I converted him and now he uses the correct term: water fountain. Ahem. 😂

I have a 12yo and 14yo and really hope to get them vaccinated soon!

This is happening in Iowa next week at 4 colleges. They plan to do more campuses when they get more J&J vaccines.

I'm now 24 hours past my second dose of Pfizer. Slightly achy shoulder, but no other side effects at this point. I'm in my early 40's, so I fully expected to have the headache, chills, fever, etc... that so many have reported. I'm pleasantly surprised I seem to have avoided all that!
