    DVC Top of Contemporary Lounge

Yes. Bring room key and blue DVC member ID to gain entrance. Parking is not permitted at the Contemporary--you must use Disney transportation. Lounge is restricted to BLT guests only on July 3 & 4 and December 30 & 31.

When you book a 1 bedroom villa through Disney....

If it's a One Bedroom Villa which truly only SLEEPS 4, they will only book 4 guests on a cash reservation. This would include Saratoga, BoardWalk, Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. DVC allows members the one extra occupant but that courtesy is not typically passed along to cash guests. Resorts...

    Polynesian Resort Adding Bungalows

People will certainly buy the points but it's never going to be the picturesque location that many have envisioned. At BLT, about 35-40% of the rooms have an unobstructed view of the MK. At Grand Floridian 0% will have an unobstructed view. BTW in case you haven't been following, that...

    Polynesian Resort Adding Bungalows

Not according to the image below. Some rooms will have views of the Poly and Seven Seas Lagoon. Many will just look toward other GF buildings or the wedding pavilion. Big Pine Key building blocks any direct view of the Magic Kingdom. Will see some fireworks above but not much more than that.

    Polynesian Resort Adding Bungalows

FYI, That tikiman post is from May 2012. After the poor location of the Grand Floridian DVC wing (no MK view at all), nothing would surprise me.

DVC prices per point increasing in March

I think it's very difficult to put oneself in the place of a first time buyer today. You've been an owner for 15 years and were lucky enough to be offered such low prices. You have probably spent hundreds of days in the Disney parks over those years. You've witnessed the changes (or lack...

DVC prices per point increasing in March

Depends upon what buyers are seeking. If you want 150+ points at any resort, resale is the way to go. But if you only want 25-50 points at resorts like BoardWalk or Beach Club, good luck finding on the resale market. Those smaller contracts are extremely hard to come by, tend to fetch an...

    Annual Pass DVC Discount

I doubt that would pass muster with Disney's legal team. Assuming the dollars could even be co-mingled, it could jeopardize their ability to suspend the account due to non-payment of dues. Even DVC owners who are making a monthly mortgage payment and dues payment get two separate debits per...

    Annual Pass DVC Discount

That's pretty much the point. Disney is a big target for abuse and fraud. About 5 years ago, DVC got hit pretty hard by scammers. Back then DVC would finance buyers with only a token downpayment. They ran incentives where buyers received 1-2x the number of points purchased as a buy-in...

    Annual Pass DVC Discount

Nothing to stop you from closing the bank account or credit card. When I say "collections", I'm referring to getting money from those who refuse to pay. Laws vary from one state to the next, and it would be a much greater challenge than performing collections solely from those living in FL...

    Annual Pass DVC Discount

I'm going to guess that the incentive wont' reappear anytime soon. Retailers tend to get the best response from this sort of incentive when offered inconsistently and unpredictably. If a similar offer appears later this year, that trend (2 years in a row) will encourage many to defer future...

Seems like disney is trying to crush the dvc resale market!!!

Any Old Key West points purchased direct from DVC are deeded through 1/31/2057. Disney would never be able to recapture all of the extended points. Many will stay within a family until the contract expires. I'm sure they did not make the extension decision lightly. OKW was presumably...

Seems like disney is trying to crush the dvc resale market!!!

About 4 years ago DVC offered owners of Old Key West a 15 year contract extension. Instead of ownership ending in 2042, contracts with the extension would run into 2057. By all accounts, the extension was not well received. As such, Disney is on track to be left holding a lot of points...

Seems like disney is trying to crush the dvc resale market!!!

That will show 'em!!! LOL Seriously, just put in another offer for a couple dollars more. If DVC is a match for your vacation habits, it's silly to walk away and continue to pay for cash rooms over this little bump in the road. If you're a prospective buyer, ROFR can be a source of...

DVC prices per point increasing in March

Be mindful of the Vero dues. Due to higher insurance premiums and other related costs, they are $2 per point higher than most others. Over 29 years of ownership, you're likely to pay much more than an owner of a higher priced resort like Saratoga Springs or Old Key West which has lower dues...

    Grand Californian

Just be aware that once you book through the Disney Collection, the points become reclassified as "Reservation Points" and could not be used to book a villa even if one became available. Honestly I think your odds of getting a villa on 2 months notice are extremely slim. There are only 48...

Will DVC let you switch resorts at the last minute

Well, most other timeshares are irrelevant if your intention is to stay at Disney resorts. That's kinda like saying you want to buy a Cadillac Escalade but only if it gets 80 miles to the gallon. Such an animal simply doesn't exist. I'd be curious to hear more about the financial terms of...

Will DVC let you switch resorts at the last minute

So just out of curiosity...how many points are you renting and what are you paying?

Will DVC let you switch resorts at the last minute

One obvious reason would seem to be that owning gives you full control over your reservation rather than being subject to the whims of the person who owns the points. Financially, either you're renting a very small number of points--which can also be inexpensive to purchase--or the person...

Will DVC let you switch resorts at the last minute

If you are using the main Disney website to conclude that Beach Club is available...you are mistaken. The rooms listed on Disney.com are available for cash stays only. Accommodations available for DVC points stays come from a separate inventory. Beach Club is typically fully book 5-6...
