Walt Disney World Annual Pass closure period extension watch

Our pass expiries refreshed overnight. Original expiry May 5, now Aug 30. In the unlikely event we're allowed to travel from the UK to US, we hope to. Not feeling optimistic though!

Walt Disney World Annual Pass closure period extension watch

Has anyone whose pass expired during the closure had extensions yet? I'm expecting 49 days to be added, although I appreciate they're probably dealing with these in batches and it must be a huge task!

Walt Disney World Annual Pass closure period extension watch

My expiry date was May 5, which was 49 days into the closure. I expect those 49 days to be added when parks reopen, which would make the new expiry August 29, however at this time my AP has disappeared from MDE. I'm in the UK and still clinging on to a little optimism that we'll be allowed to...

Construction restarted at Walt Disney World Resort - What is Actually still on

On the Epcot construction (assuming Disney PR will be reluctant to release any remotely 'negative' news) I think our biggest clue as to the extent of the cancellations can be judged on whether the Epcot Experience reopens, is edited, or closed entirely. My guess is the latter, but I sincerely...

Disney Springs testing new no-stop security scanner for new entry screening when the parks reopen

I'm no expert but I've run teams that have commissioned a lot of hardware and tech over the years and I'm quite sure rolling this kind of new equipment will take some time. There's whatever the lead time on orders are, installation, training, testing and implementation to get through. In other...

I never get the AP emails!

I'm in the UK and have never received one. Not sure how true this is but I've been told Disney don't send emails to AP holders outside the US. Something to do with privacy laws in different territories being too complex. 🤷‍♂️ On a related note, has anyone had their AP expiry extended yet? My...

Awesome. It's a shame the ride is so inconsistent and some have variable levels of success in getting the whole experience. Current BG is 38. Eight to go 'till we (hopefully) ride 🤩

Well done, Kevin! We managed to get group 46, which is a relief after yesterday's debacle!

We're doing the same. Two phones at the ready, plus GET as a backup. We're rope dropping on Sunset Blvd abd heading straight to the GET kiosk by TOT. We were told last night that the further away you get from the lake the better the data is, but who knows at this point? I figure it's about 90%...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

A cast member just told me that the best 'trick' is to be in a line for a guest experience team podium prior to park opening, while also trying to get a boarding pass on the app. Apparently the guest experience team have some flexibility over 'assisting' with boarding groups. Can anyone vouch...

Thanks! Yeah, we were feeling pessimistic but there were a few good hours this afternoon when we got a boost of hope. We have tomorrow and then we fly home (literally just a weekend trip for both of our birthdays). I agree with others here that there's no ideal way to do this but it still sucks!

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Just had a notification that we won't be boarding today. They called up to 67 and our group was 73. Flew in especially from the UK and made it to rope drop on two hours sleep. Hoping for better luck tomorrow.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Do we know if the number of guests per boarding group has changed in this time, or is it simply the reliability of the attraction being completely inconsistent?

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

At opening time there's an announcement/advertisement for the boarding group process, which runs for roughly 20 seconds. After that's played out the button becomes available on the app.
