News Chevrolet is teaming up with Walt Disney World to reveal the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Bolt EV

That made me laugh. I’ll add into the electric fun... I’ve owned four electric vehicles including currently two Bolts and we’re deciding between adding a Tesla Y or Ford Mach-E right now. It amazes me to read the naysayers and their nonsense. In the past seven years, we’ve had zero car repairs...

    The Red Button Option

The NYT has extensive reporting that the hackers only downloaded the data of 8 users, so the OP premise of all sorts of Disney accounts being accessed is far fetched. As one of the people on the board who’s in the political strategy arena professionally, the idea that TWDC would sell these...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

This is structurally very different than a typical recession and honestly not comparable. You have huge expenditures regardless of whether the company is bringing in revenue or not While having billions of dollars in cash on-hand and at least double that amount in available lines of credit...

NY Times: Bob Iger Effectively Back As CEO

Great specs. Wehad to give up our home theater with 110” and stadium seating when my teenagers needed more space and we moved them down to the basement and converted the theater into a bedroom. Enjoy your setup!

NY Times: Bob Iger Effectively Back As CEO

When I read the Barron’s piece, it seemed pretty clear just by its mere publication that Iger was sending a message to the market that he was in-charge and you’re right on, the NYT seals the deal here. As much as many of us abhor Chapek’s decisions at the parks, to say he was being thrown to...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I suggest you pay greater attention to what programs are being rolled out as that's precisely what most lenders are beginning to do and they're working on it on the federal side too. Most major mortgage lenders are allowing for at least a three month skip in mortgage payments and that is being...

Rumor Is Apple about to make the happiest acquisition on earth?

I signed an NDA, so there’s only so much to divulge, but what I can say is that I’ve had something to do with Apple TV+ and the company is just throwing ridiculous sums of cash at it and literally flushing it down the drain. I do not see a long term play of Apple in the entertainment business...

New article on AllEars dealing with early evening closures at Epcot

That's not correct. Disney cut down the hours beginning in the early 00's to 7 PM for Future World. Future World and World Showcase would have hours of at least 9 and 10 pm closings throughout the 80's and attractions not closing hour(s) early to cut hours. Plenty of times during the 80's and...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I agree about M:S, unfortunately it replaced IMHO the greatest attraction that the company has ever built. The other downside is that in our family of five, I'm the only one that will ride it. It's too intense for my wife and kids' (including teenagers) taste.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Right. Eric Idle was just on Conan O’Brien’s podcast with a great interview.

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opening day reports - Disney's Hollywood Studios

My company has been going at it for more than two decades and citing the August sales numbers of vehicles isn't an accurate indicator of the overall strength of the economy. Manufacturers are increasing incentives including near historic high combinations of direct cash rebates and low to zero...

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Not sure about that. I just read again that all Radiator Springs AAs were done by Garner Holt.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

You’re correct that Imagineering is doing some advanced AA’s in-house, but Cars AA’s are Garner Holt.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Garner Holt does all of Disney’s AA work today. They outsourced it as of 2012.

Is that the new talking point that's coming from Chappie and company?

    Disney World Low Attendance Paradox

It's my company's 21st year in business and that sentiment is accurate. We're seeing patterns that have foreshadowed the prior two recessions. The issue isn't fundamentals with the economy in the US, it's unpredictability. The tariff situation is becoming a real problem on the...

News Annual Pass price increases June 2019

Having been in the industry in a past life, I find it to be something how box office grosses have become a sport of sort for everyday people. Most seem to not have an understanding of what the difference between gross and profit are and that most of the production cost numbers that are shown...

News Annual Pass price increases June 2019

It's interesting that some cling to this notion of reducing the number of passholders, while several of our incredibly accurate inside sources have made it very clear that the objective is to increase the number of APs and simply drive their margins higher. For any who might be new around here...

News Annual Pass price increases June 2019

Just a few thoughts and it's like this conversation has gone into complete overdrive in the Iger era, well, which it has. There reaches a tipping point where the pricing is insane even for the most well versed and well to do WDW visitors. As for some stating about this attempting to lower the AP...
