    Disney Theme Parks TV Specials

Wow, I totally remember watching the Disneyland 30th anniversary one as a kid. I also remember a magic special filmed at Disneyland. I think Siegfried and Roy made the castle "disappear". Another favorite of mine was the Disney World 4th of July special from the late 80's or early 90's. The...

Thanks! I didn't even know about that specific calendar!

    Question about EMH's

I forgot if EMH's are offered every day. I'm planning my trip for September 30th-October 6th and have been looking at various calendars and I'm noticing an AM EMH at Epcot on the 30th (but I won't be in WDW yet) and only one PM EHM at DHS for Oct. 4th. I know Disney doesn't have ALL the park...

    Books about Disney World

Not sure if I'm posting this on the correct board, but here goes. Do you have any favorite books about the history and planning of Disney World? I love reading about the early years of WDW. So far I have read Realityland by David Koenig (I like that book so much I'm reading it for the third...

    Main Street train station voice?

Does anyone remember back in the 80's (around 1985, because I remember it from my first visit) a man's voice that would come over a speaker at the Main Street train station and say something like, "you have fiiiiive minutes" (I'm assuming it was five minutes until the train departed) in a big...

    Scents> Which attractions?

When I was a kid and would walk through Tomorrowland, I would always notice this fuel-type smell. Not like gas at the gas station, but something a bit more subtle (I guess it's like the Spaceship Earth smell you speak of). I loved that smell! I also love the smell of all the water rides. Sort of...

    Riverside or French quarter?

I love French Quarter. I stayed there twice and am staying there in October. I love the theming and the compact size. It's very pretty at night, too.

Is Old Key West really THAT spread out?

I'm planning a 2016 trip and would like to try OKW. It looks like a nice resort and I've been to the real Key West and absolutely loved it, so I'm thinking about booking there. I'm reading reviews about how spread out it is and how you should rent a car to get around, etc. Is it that bad? I've...

Do you make it a point to visit other resorts?

I have never done the whole resort-hopping thing (on my last trip I did take the monorail to the Poly look around). During my 2007 trip I got a massage at Saratoga Springs, does that count? I plan to this trip...especially since this is a solo vacation and I'll be able to do whatever, whenever I...

    Have you ever tried?...

I look up YouTube videos of the music they play in different parks and listen to them on my laptop while I work. They have Magic Kingdom and Epcot entrance music, I love it...and I can listen to the music from the Star Corridor in Space Mountain for hours, it's so relaxing.

Snack credits at Food and Wine

Is it true that I can use snack credits from my Quick Service dining plan for food at the F&W festival? If so, why did I not know this before?!?

    Define..... "The Magic"

For me, "The Magic" is the feeling I get when I'm walking through the tunnel and onto Main Street, U.S.A. and I'm feeling all the nostalgia from my past trips, but also feeling that rush that comes with the knowledge that new experiences lie ahead.

What was the best year to visit WDW?

The mid-to-late 80's. I was just a kid, but now that I look back, I remember our trips being a lot less complicated. I went in 1985 and 1987 and there were no lines to wait in to get a character's autograph or Fast Passes or people running around with itineraries (or maybe there were?). Two days...

Get a cup of coffee at Main Street Bakery and drink it on the way to Space Mountain.

    What's your favorite Disney Moutain?

I love Big Thunder Mountain because that's the very first Disney mountain ride I ever went on, so there's the nostalgia thing going on. It's also great fun! Splash is second, followed closely by Space.

Name the things you MUST do every time you go to WDW??

I must: Eat lunch at Casey's Corner Take a stroll through Port Orleans around dusk Take the boat to Downtown Disney Ride TTA, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Mad Tea Party Take a couple of rides on the monorail Be in Magic Kingdom and Epcot at night to experience the amazing lighting Get a cone...
