A week away and the possibility of rain is scaring my party!

As a native Floridian, it's going to rain almost everyday from now til October. Like others have said, you're going to have to get used to some rain if you're coming to Disney World. While the dry season start in mid October and last typically through April in any seven day period there is...

Scenario - how do you play it out?

MK. Running from park to park for one or two things, you end up spending more time at the bus stop or on the bus. I'd head to MK, watch Wishes, Main Street Electrical Parade and hit a few rides. Those with small children will be leaving after Wishes. I can ride a few rides and get a Dole Whip.

How Many Days for You? Part 11

    8. The worst part is I can't even get worked up. I have two real estate closings that were supposed to have happened 3 weeks ago. Both properties will close by the end of the week, but it's driving me nuts because I have no money right now. We're pass holders so the tickets are paid but the...

Week Before/Of Christmas vs. Week between Christmas/NY Day

Go the week before if you have the option. December is generally not bad as long as the kids are in school. Once the kids let out of school, the crowds start growing daily and will go peak right before Christmas and on through New Years. I haven't been to Disney for Christmas or new Year's in...

Should We Stay or Should We Go?

Well, Christmas is a great time to be at the parks. The really are decorated very nicely. However, the crowds are the busiest of the year. Your first few days won't be so bad. It's once the kids let out of school that the crowds seem to grow exponentially every day. If you can do a fair...

Best time to go in September...

Schools in Florida start up again in late August so September crowds aren't too bad even for Labor Day weekend. We were there last year for Labor Day weekend and the crowds were manageable. Food and Wine starts getting more crowded as you approach the end so going in September you'll be fine...

EMH at night affecting MK crowds wait times (retry) with poll

That depends on your child's school schedule. Sometimes there will be a teacher planning day on a Monday and we'll make it a 3 day weekend. We plan around those types of weekends since we only live 3.5 hours away.

    Meh rides

I get there for rope drop but I start in the other direction. I make my fast passes for Space Mountain, now I've added Seven Dwarfs Minetrain and I'll something else like Buzz or Peter Pan. I start in Adeventureland and I can race through, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, My 4 ear old insists on magic...

    EMH and park times?

They don't add EMH on any given day. The parks have certain days they have EMH. EPCOT will have them on Friday, MK on Saturday. Not sure about AK and MGM.

    Disney over Memorial Day Weekend

We've done Memorial Day Weekend, two out of the last four years. It's not that bad. Get to the parks early and you can do some popular rides before the crowds arrive and use the fast passes. It's more than doable. MGM (it's still MGM to me) will be a little busier because it's Star Wards...

First Mexico and Now Norway? Proof America is Getting Dumber?

You can't blame it all on Disney. A long time ago people told Disney they didn't like learning while on vacation. Disney is just giving people what they want.

Have you ever done a spontaneous trip?

One of the perks of living in Florida. We've decided on a Tuesday to leave Friday when the kids let out school to head to Disney. It's only 3.5 hours. We booked on site with the Florida resident discount. It's harder to do now, but on some of those we had even done character dinners.

If you can handle Christmas, Easter won't be worse. They are both considered "holiday times" which is their peak.

Reasons why a short trip is still worth it...

Florida weather is unpredictable. You can still have some cool mornings but it can get warm in the afternoon. You'll have to check the ten day forecast as you get closer to know what to expect.

Reasons why a short trip is still worth it...

Most of our trips are short trips. We live 3.5 hours away so we can do it. We go for long weekends when the kids have a Friday or Monday off from school. We'll do it a few times a year. We get to do plenty. You can do plenty if you plan.

    Avoiding Parks on EMH

Wow. As much as I love Disney, I couldn't stay 35 days. Even 14 is a lot. Part of it might be being a small business owner.

    Avoiding Parks on EMH

I don't go to Disney during "peak times" as I have seasonal passes, but I don't find the parks to be too bad during EMH. Last time we were which was the weekend of December 6th. We arrived at MK at 8:10am for the EMH and within an hour and a half we knocked out the Magic Carpets, Jungle...
