Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Im looking forward to it as well. without Disney controlling the branding of DME, Mears could have a product that delivers people to all area resorts, not just wdw. Its an opportunity that, if well executed/priced, could expand Mears' business considerably. regarding the universal wrapped...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

No they cant, and they won't. However....if Mears drove universal labeled buses through WDW, you can bet WDW would exhaust every legal and contractual avenue to stop the practice. I'm half bewildered I'm even explaining this. I thought most people understood this....

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Lets go back to the original situation. Mears contracts with universal to wrap its buses. Mears drives buses into WDW. WDW asks Mears to stop driving universal wrapped buses on wdw private property. WDW uses legal and/or contractual leverage to convince Mears to stop.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

I think you're confusing legal remedy with illegal. What I mean is that Disney lawyers would likely present universal with a cease and desist, much the same way universal lawyers presented disney with one when they wrapped a monorail with avengers.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

No, because it would never happen in the first place. If Universal paid Mears to drive Universal wrapped busses through WDW property, you can bet there would be a response.....likely legally at first. But if the legal remedy wasn't successful, you would most certainly see an escalation. But...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

😖 As if taking 90 minutes to get from plane to WDW wasn't bad enough with DME.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

I dont see this ever happening. I think both companies realize that this sort of thing would escalate, and escalate ugly. About 9 year ago, during the promotion of the first Avengers movie - WDW wrapped a monorail with a skin featuring the original 6 avengers (Ironman, Cap, Hulk, Thor, Black...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

lol good idea...maybe carry two. The second (a disposable?) for the person who's sneezing.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

That's simply not true. You're assuming my intentions and nothing in post above was addressing or disagreeing with Disney's policies. I only asked the question because I saw the person I responded to as someone who might reasonably respond to my question. I asked my original question to...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

See my response above and tone down your defensiveness. I'm not posting to start a fight or complain about WDW's policies.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Oh I agree....my question wasn't related to Disney's policies, but more so as an overall mindset - as I see the level of comfort of people who will complain about WDW's enforcement (or lack of) to be fairly aligned with their risk aversion related to covid. That being said - I strongly suspect...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Can I ask you a question...and please, Im not trying to be confrontational. Im trying to understand your mindset. I do realize that some people have different thresholds of risk when we talk about covid. At what point do you see normalcy returning to our lives? Truth be told - as human...

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

Lower your defensiveness. I'm merely suggesting that the poster you were dismissing with your weather comment had a valid point....especially with NY, where increased population exodus is both a recent *and* new phenomena.

Understanding Why Disney's Magical Express Is Ending

To be fair, I think there's room for both schools of thought. NY has indeed experienced a significant exodus over the past few years. It's not weather doing it all. It's politics. Its taxes. Its regulations. It's covid. It's not wanting to be stuck in a locked down state forever. So...

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

Sure. Hard to disagree with that. Your example is probably lived by everyone who's had a fastpass open at 1PM, walked past an attraction at noon and said "65 minutes? That will dump us out just in time to get on X" This whole thing is a very dynamic ecosystem....because its driven by people...

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

I think thats what makes the universal pass work. It limits access to it based on a pretty darn high cost (and drives up beds in their deluxe resorts at the same time). While I dont think WDW can simply do the same thing Uni has done, I do think they can price an add on that would work - and...

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

Hard to argue with any of this! 👍

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

This issue is far more subtle than what you're describing. The suggestion that fastpass has no impact on overall wait times ignores the fact that there is an upper limit that park guests will be willing to absorb on an attraction before walking to another attraction to see if the other...

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

I never said it did. My contention with FP+ has always been with its impact on standby wait times. There is no denying that a fully saturated fastpass queue has a significant upward impact on the corresponding standby queue. Lets also not forget that WDW has modularized its attraction capacity...
