For a two night stay, I would stay at the Poly. You can take the monorail to both MK and Epcot and enjoy the wonderful pool and amenities at the Poly.

Animal Kingdom Lodge really needs some direct access to the park. A train would be good or a minimum of a walking path.

True, the prices are very high. Even with renting points the prices for even a one bedroom for a week are quite high when compared to condo rentals in other locations.

We enjoyed the resort and would suggest it to others. Our family has also stayed at Animal Kingdom, Beach Club and Boardwalk. Only downsides are no gym, fairly dark rooms and I thought the "I love the river mill" song in the food court was a bit too much.
