News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Why bother, they always miss anyway

Question for those who stay in the values.

My only issue with the values is that they have created an artificial strata of price, but what they have taken away in the sake of "value" really doesn't cost anything. In some cases, they are actually losing money on a customer that stays in a value resort rather than make money. Why not...

    Then vs. Now: Your observations

Then: Paper fastpasses worked for everyone. Now: A lot of non-computer/app savvy people missing out on fastpass+. I see/hear the frustration all the time. Sure, people in the know, figure it out and it enhances their trip. New people can't seem to figure it out. We might be turning off...

    Rate the roller coasters

This is difficult. There are different things that raise the thrill level for different individuals. I'd give Expedition Everest a 10 for parts of it (the backwards part and the part right after the drop where you are definitely getting torqued around. That said the "10" doesn't last very...

Disney Announces New Nature Resort on Bay Lake

It does sound less cookie-cutter in terms of rooms offered. That is positive. There are different sizes of families, and experiences they want to have and it is presently very limited in terms of how they can lodge.

    Is Boardwalk Worth It?

The main issue with The Boardwalk resort is the fact that the boardwalk itself is the "lobby". It lacks a central feel to it, but that is indeed the design. The location can't be beat and there are more things to do there than just about anywhere. Considering also that World Showcase can also...

News City Works Eatery and Pour House coming to Disney Springs in 2019

Southwestern Connecticut border, but make monthly pilgrimages to Treehouse Brewing Co in Monson, MA and others. My local watering hole has 85 taps all N.E. Craft.

News City Works Eatery and Pour House coming to Disney Springs in 2019

Not even close. Hopefully this rectifies that. Curate a good selection. I realize there probably won't be a good NEIPA because there is no good NEIPA in FL, but maybe some goodwill guest taps from out of towners could fix that. I feel like this woman I saw on vacation a while back from VT...

Were the lines really shorter back in the day or do we imagine this?

There have never been longer waits than now. There have never been more people there than now. There have never been more people at former "off season times" like fall and early winter than now. The events planned around these times have boosted attendance in ways you can't imagine. Making...

    Pulling kids from school?

Kindergarten and First Grade, I say do it. I think some kids 3rd grade and up, it might be a bad idea. Certainly any kid shouldn't be taken out for a week at middle school level and up as they would miss a lot.

    Will it Star Wars?

Indeed. Star Wars is classic popcorn moviemaking at it's finest. When it gets preachy or message-oriented, as some of the later films did, it failed.

    Will it Star Wars?

I don't believe Star Wars is indeed Sci-fi. Sci-fi is rooted in a futuristic timeline whereas Star Wars is in an alternative universe (not alternate universe). It's an original place, much like Game of Thrones is in that regard. There is also a lack of scientific focus. Sure there is high...

    Smoking Sections Bizzare At Disney

I agree with many that it's the size of the resort and also the way it's built. The building kind of surrounds the property.

    Will it Star Wars?

Star Wars (in 1977) was unique because of it's throwback style of storytelling. It was a swashbuckling kind of epic, which unabashedly had heroes and villains do battle. There was the concept of honor, in the Jedi. It was everything a late 70s me-decade, New Hollywood film wasn't. One only...

    Fixes for the Haunted Mansion

This is one ride they do not need to do much to, except keep it running well and spruced up. You always run the risk with this being too scary or not scary enough. Keeping it somewhat predictable and classic is what keeps people going on it.

    Lost kids and magic bands

They have the capabilities but does staff have access to the data in a way that would be meaningful, ie locate a child? I'm not sure they do. The data capture is there, but the actual reporting may not be.

    Dining Plan Query

Basically you have two meals per night you stay plus a snack. To get the maximum value for the dollar I suggest using that table service meal for dinner, when prices would normally be the highest. Use the quick service meal for lunch. Use the snack for whenever you like, and bring a box of...
