News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Sounds incredibly messy, if I'm honest. I'm optimistic about the ride but I don't see how Tiana's dad being an African-American WW1 veteran is going to fit into a musical log flume ride through a bayou, for example.

News Disney Vacation Club announces plans for more than 350 new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Looks completely different to the concept art. Not even the right shape (even if this is from the opposite view than the artwork). Not sure this is it? Seems odd.

News Disney Vacation Club announces plans for more than 350 new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

The old ones already technically slept 6 (though I wouldn't want to be in the bunk bed as a grown adult if I could avoid it). Sturdy up that bunk and keep the sofa bed (or convert back to murphy) and it's good to go.

News Disney Vacation Club announces plans for more than 350 new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

I don't know anything but I would assume any significant redevelopment of the Cabins will come with an expansion/change to the Wilderness Pool complex that is closest to them. They could add amenities to that and then make it exclusive to the cabins. Seems like they have a fair amount of space...

News Disney Vacation Club announces plans for more than 350 new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

I think they look nice (though a little too different/non Fort Wilderness for my taste). The idea of letting more light in is a good one. However, I absolutely dread to think how much the price is going to go up. FW was the only remotely reasonably priced onsite accommodation with a kitchen...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Call me crazy, but Splash is my favourite ride and has been for a long time, and I'm cautiously optimistic about this. I'll miss the music *so* badly but P&TF music has the chops and swing to potentially fill its shoes somewhat, and if they really are putting the higher budget into this that's...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I think a lot of people at Disney understand that this is probably the most important attraction with the highest stakes that they've done in quite some time. I don't think for a second that anyone involved has any intention to do anything less than knock this out of the park. Whether...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Not a great name, clearly focus-tested to hell. I wish they'd at least kept the word "Mountain". Eh, what are ya gonna do. For late 2024 opening I presume Splash will close in Jan 2023 or around then, giving them just under two years? Shame, going Easter next year and was hoping I'd get one last...

News Expect closure of Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland to impact Walt Disney World

I'm now 40:60 on whether the parks will be open in May when my trip is scheduled. Leaning towards that they'll be closed down then. Still, there is a lot that can happen in that period of time, both good and bad. You're almost certainly okay for the next couple of weeks, at least. It's hard to...

    News Pandora path repainting

If I remember correctly, they redo it every so often. It's not so much that it "failed" but that the paint inevitably wears over time and they re-apply it to refresh the effect.

News PHOTOS - Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom to receive enhancements this summer

Reached out real quick to see if CS had a different bit of PR for folks concerned about the construction, and they did! Of course, doesn't really help to clarify what exactly will be going on as this could range from "there will be cranes and pickers but we'll try and put them away during the...

    Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Plans

It looks very pretty. Any idea how intrusive the refurbishment will be? Not sure if a full scaffold would be so feasible for 6 months as it is at other resorts, for example - poor Guest Relations having to deal with once-in-a-lifetimers in that situation...

Something is going to happen to Fantasmic

I think if Fantasmic! at WDW gets work it will probably either be taken from Disneyland's 2017 update or in tandem with the rumoured introduction of the show at Disneyland Paris (though this will be moreso like that at Tokyo DisneySea). Not talking stage/set copies, but arrangements, show structure.

News Major Hurricane Dorian impacts to Walt Disney World 2019

My family and I are booked now to fly out of MCO to leave Florida on Saturday at 11am approx. Just hoping there won't be any issues with that... :/ Best wishes to everyone, hoping for the best.

News Major Hurricane Dorian impacts to Walt Disney World 2019

Hey! I'm from the UK too, booked to fly over to join my family in WDW on Friday (which really complicates things, they left before we have a clear image of how the storm might be, not so for me as I'll probably have a good idea...). How is your pre-trip thinking going? Your flight might not be...

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Letdown they didn't specify opening even as much as the "Spring" they have in the past (delay?), But man those pictures are gorgeous. Looks like they're really going to capture the look of being in that cartoon.

    Rumor Magic Kingdom 50th Refurbishments

I'm glad to see things get love but I hope they move to announce all these closures well in advance and plan them with some subsequence rather than closing them all together so we're not suddenly seeing Magic Kingdom as the same land of walls and closures that EPCOT FW is going to be next year.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Really hoping D23 will give a firmer date on this one, it's a little odd to be able to see basically zero indication of how close the project is. Looking to book for early-mid May and trying to hold off 'til I feel comfortable this will be open.

    Bye bye Mickey soaps?

You laugh, but I saw someone online a few years ago saying she is a germaphobe and seriously asking if they disinfect the ride and park areas every night.

4 Walt Disney World Resorts to accept dogs

Those Fort Wilderness dog relief zones are horrendous. Imagine looking out your bedroom window and seeing a dog pooping. Because that's going to be possible now for only $340 a night. Disney magic™!
